About the Role

We’re seeking a skilled and reliable Field Service Technician to service, maintain, and repair residential solar, battery storage, and generator systems. You’ll diagnose electrical issues, ensure compliance with NEC/AHJ standards, perform preventative maintenance, and deliver a first-class customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and related components.
  • Perform preventive maintenance — panel cleaning, wiring inspections, inverter and battery health checks.
  • Commission systems and upgrades; ensure compliance with NEC, AHJ, and utility standards.
  • Use diagnostic tools (multimeters, clamp meters, thermal imaging) to assess system performance.
  • Maintain accurate service logs, inspection reports, and photo documentation.
  • Follow strict safety standards including PPE use, lockout/tagout, and fall protection.
  • Respond to emergency and warranty calls as needed.
  • Communicate clearly with homeowners, providing updates and ensuring satisfaction.

Requirements

Must-Have Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; trade school or technical training preferred.
  • 4+ years of electrical experience (solar PV, battery, or generator background strongly preferred).
  • State-required electrical certifications/licensing (e.g., journeyman or wireman).
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, AHJ, and utility interconnection requirements.
  • Ability to read schematics and use electrical diagnostic tools.
  • Physically able to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work on roofs or in varying weather.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean record.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.
