Information Technology Supervisor (Network)

The Information Technology (IT) Supervisor is a member of the Network team, reporting directly to the court’s Director of IT. The IT Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day hands-on administration of the network team’s operations, staff, projects, and technologies for the court’s Judges and staff spanning nine states.
This is an in-person position based in Pasadena, CA, with occasional work from home opportunities granted at the discretion of the Director of IT. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and self-starting professional who understands the importance of customer service and teamwork.
Representative Duties
• Day-to-day administration, maintenance, and support of the court’s Cisco/HPE wired and wireless data networks.
• Management of the Network Team’s personnel, to include performance reviews, project guidance, and training.
• Track and remediate network server and LAN switch security vulnerabilities via NESSUS.
• Tier 2 level support for VoIP and Cisco Communication Manager.
• Day-to-day administration, maintenance, and support of the court’s VMware ESXi virtual server and hosts environment.
• Liaison with National firewall, WAN (DCN), VoIP, and wireless support teams and service providers.
• Technical project management with minimal supervision related to the court’s voice and data networks.
• Provide upper tier technical support and guidance to the court’s A/V and desktop support teams.
• Create and update procedural configuration and recovery documentation for the technologies supported by the Network Team.
• Travel as required to courthouses and chambers within and outside of California to provide network support both during and after normal business hours at the discretion of the court’s judges and departmental managers.
Required Minimum Technical Qualifications
• A Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Information Technology from an accredited university is required
• At least five years of professional network team experience in a management or supervisory role.
• Windows Server 2016 or 2022 certification or at least five years of professional configuration and administration experience required. This is to include configuration and troubleshooting proficiency with DNS, DHCP, DFS, ADUC, and Group Policy management.
• Cisco certification or a minimum of five years Cisco IOS LAN services configuration and administration experience required. Specifically, the ability to configure VLANs and AVB / QoS services for A/V use.
• VMware certification or at least five years of professional experience configuring and administering virtual servers and hosts in an ESXi environment.
• At least five years of professional experience with HPE server and storage array configuration and administration experience.
Required Non-Technical Qualifications
• The ability to travel, within and outside of California and occasionally on very short notice, to provide hands-on technical network support for all of the court’s twenty plus locations is essential.
• Must be able to lift at least 50lbs to rack and un-rack network hardware.
Preferred Qualifications
• A minimum of five years of experience supporting voice and data networks for the Federal Court is highly desirable.
• Professional experience managing and configuring physical and virtual server backups and recovery via the Veeam Server Backup and Recovery solution is desirable.
• Application familiarity with PaperCut, ServiceDesk, EMS, Network Operations Manager, and Call Replay is desirable.
