Overview:
We’re looking for a Business Development Associate to join our Growth Marketing team. This is a sales-heavy, partnership-driven role focused on acquiring new customers through strategic partnerships and outbound business development.
The ideal candidate is a native-level English speaker, excels in sales and lead generation, and is eager to grow into a broader growth or marketing role over time. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Business Development, and owns the Partnerships channel end-to-end.
What you'll do:
1. Business Development & Partnerships
- Identify, pitch, negotiate, and close customer acquisition partnerships with pet and non-pet brands
- Own the full partnership lifecycle: outbound prospecting, negotiation, contracting, execution, and optimization
- Act as the primary external point of contact, representing the brand in partner conversations and negotiations
2. Sales & Lead Generation
- Proactively source and qualify partnership leads through outbound efforts
- Build and manage your own pipeline from first contact to signed agreement
- Consistently work toward and achieve conversion-based partnership targets
3. Growth & Marketing Support
- Conceptualize and execute joint initiatives (co-branded campaigns, promotions, activations)
- Support the scaling of offline marketing channels through reporting, agency coordination, and logistics
- Conduct market research to identify trends, whitespace opportunities, and new partnership ideas
4. Performance & Collaboration
- Define KPIs and track performance across partnerships (CAC, ROI, incremental lift)
- Analyze results and optimize strategies to maximize impact
- Collaborate closely with CRM, Operations, and other company brands to integrate partnerships into broader growth strategies
Non-Negotiables (Must-Haves):
- C1+ English fluency (written and spoken)
- You will be the brand’s external representative and must confidently lead calls, negotiations, and complex partner discussions independently after initial support
- Strong understanding of the American market gained through education, work experience, or long-term exposure, as we are a U.S.-based brand
- Proven sales experience, ideally in business development, partnerships, or customer acquisition
- Ability to generate your own leads and operate with high ownership
Who You Are:
- 2–4 years of experience in sales, business development, partnerships, or growth marketing
- Confident, persuasive communicator with a relationship-first sales approach
- Analytical and comfortable building simple business cases
- Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets and familiar with metrics like CAC and ROI
- Entrepreneurial mindset—you enjoy problem-solving, testing ideas, and taking ownership
Nice to Have (Not Required):
- Experience in a B2C startup or high-growth environment
- Exposure to DTC, subscription, or consumer brands
- Interest in expanding into broader growth or marketing responsibilities over time
Compensation & Incentives:
- Competitive base salary
- Quarterly performance bonus awarded in full based on tiered conversion targets
- Bonuses are paid quarterly (not monthly) to reflect realistic sales cycles and ensure fairness, as deals take time to materialize
