Accounting Analyst

Position Title: Accounting Analyst

Job Type: Onsite (Lahore/Islamabad)

Timing: US Time Zone (EST)

We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to support core accounting operations and financial reporting for a US-based organization. This role will be responsible for owning month-end close activities, general ledger accounting, and ensuring compliance with US GAAP. The position also partners closely with FP&A and cross-functional teams to deliver accurate financial insights and support business decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on accounting expertise, NetSuite experience, and a proactive, detail-driven approach.

Key Responsibilities

Core Accounting, Close & US GAAP

• Lead and provide hands-on support for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP
• Own and oversee general ledger (GL) accounting, including maintenance, review, and reconciliation of GL accounts
• Prepare, review, and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments with appropriate supporting documentation
• Perform detailed balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations; investigate and resolve variances
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial statements and underlying data
• Support internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responses to inquiries
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements
• Assist with revenue recognition, expense analysis, and fixed asset accounting, as applicable

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling activities in collaboration with FP&A stakeholders
• Analyze monthly financial performance versus budget and forecast; identify key drivers, trends, and risks
• Prepare management reporting packages, dashboards, and ad-hoc financial analyses
• Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial insight and support operational and strategic initiatives

Systems & ERP Support

• Actively use and support accounting operations within NetSuite
• Prepare and maintain NetSuite reports and saved searches to support close, reconciliation, and management reporting
• Support ERP-related initiatives including system enhancements, upgrades, and user acceptance testing (UAT)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and core accounting processes
• Demonstrated experience leading or owning month-end close and GL processes
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP (general ledger, close, reporting)
• Exposure to or experience supporting FP&A activities
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, financial analysis)
• Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet tight deadlines
