About the Team

Careem is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Manager to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives at the intersection of finance and technology, using data to drive financial reporting and process innovation in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do
  • Accounting & FinOps: Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations (FinOps), ensuring the integrity of high-volume transaction flows and alignment with internal policies and IFRS standards.
  • Closing & Reporting: Lead month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing and reviewing complex reconciliations, schedules, and reports in a timely manner.
  • Compliance: Support the review of financial statements in accordance with IFRS; ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions.
  • Data & Automation: Utilize SQL, Power BI, and automation tools to support reporting, data analysis, and dashboard preparation.
  • Process Improvement: Assist in automation initiatives and the application of AI within the Finance function to drive operational efficiency.
  • Audit Management: Support internal and external audits by preparing rigorous documentation and responding to technical audit queries.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure financial reporting accuracy and provide analytical insights to senior leadership.

What You'll Need
  • Professional Qualification: CA / ACCA or a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Finance.
  • Experience: 8–10 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, or a similar high-volume role.
  • Technical Standards: Solid understanding of IFRS (exposure to US GAAP is a plus).
  • Tech Stack: Working knowledge of SQL, Power BI, and automation tools. Familiarity with AI applications in finance is a strong advantage.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail; ability to communicate complex financial data clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment and manage multiple shifting priorities.
