About Plasmidsaurus

Plasmidsaurus is on a mission to accelerate new cures and promote a healthier planet by unlocking a new level of productivity for scientists. Our sequencing services are used daily by thousands of innovators, including Nobel laureates, Fortune 100 pharma, and over 70,000 scientists.

We began by revolutionizing plasmid sequencing, making it exponentially cheaper and faster, with innovative sequencing technologies and a global network of laboratories that turn samples into answers in hours, not weeks.

Now we are expanding that same disruptive model across all of genomics. With the launch of our new RNA-seq service, we are taking a bold step toward our vision to sequence everything, providing scientists everywhere with faster, simpler, and more affordable access to the data that powers discovery.

Every team member at Plasmidsaurus plays a crucial role in driving the future of biotech research. Together, we are building the world’s most efficient sequencing engine that operates overnight, scales globally, and helps scientists make breakthroughs faster than ever before.

The Role

As the Accounting Manager, you will be a cornerstone of our finance team. You will lead the day-to-day accounting operations, manage global compliance, and ensure we are prepared for our first financial audit. This is a high-impact role designed for a technical expert who enjoys both high-level financial strategy and the hands-on execution of a global month-end close. The Accounting Manager role is an exciting opportunity to help build a strong foundation for the finance function at a rapidly growing bio-tech company and to help ensure the success of the company in the upcoming years.

Core Responsibilities

  • Global Month-End Close: Manage the consolidated month-end close process across US and international subsidiaries (including Germany, UK and Singapore), ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

  • Systems Management & Implementation: Optimize and maintain our financial tech stack and lead our ERP system migration from Quickbooks to Rillet. Build the foundation of our financial systems to ensure the company can scale efficiently.

  • Technical Accounting & Audit Readiness: Act as the internal subject matter expert to ensure ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) compliance and lead our ASC 842 (Lease Accounting) adoption. Lead the preparation for the company’s first external audit, including the creation of auditable schedules and managing the relationship with external auditors.

  • Financial Operations & Management: Manage the full cycle of Procurement and Accounts Payable and work closely with our Accounts Receivable team, ensuring efficient cash flow management. Work closely with our 10 global labs to ensure proper inventory accounting and procurement processes are applied.

  • Team Management: Manage and support our offshore accounting team, develop and build the team as the company grows.

  • Equity Administration: Manage stock-based compensation expense accounting and workflows in Carta.

  • Global Compliance: Coordinate with local service providers to ensure statutory compliance, tax filings, and regulatory adherence for our labs in the US, Europe and Asia.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5–10 years of accounting experience and 2+ years of managing other team members.

  • Background: A combination of Big 4 Public Accounting and Industry experience is preferred.

  • Education & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA license is preferred.

  • Technical Skills: Deep proficiency in US GAAP, specifically ASC 606 revenue recognition, 842 lease accounting and ASC 718 stock based comp expense.

  • Systems: Experience with modern ERPs (Rillet experience is a plus) and spend management platforms like Ramp.

  • Mindset: A "builder" mentality—you are excited by the challenge of preparing a company for its first audit and creating scalable processes.

We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't perfectly align with the job description as we seek out diverse and creative perspectives. Team members who love to learn and collaborate in an inclusive environment will thrive with us. We are an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
