AI-Native Principal UI/UX Designer (m/f/d)
Shopware is a leading ecommerce system that enables companies worldwide to scale quickly and efficiently in digital commerce.
In this role, you’ll be part of the Agentic Commerce Lab, a startup-like team within our scale-up, dedicated to exploring how agentic systems will shape commerce by 2030. We build new products, run fast experiments, and prove what is possible.
Join us on the zero-to-one journey and shape the future of commerce as part of a strategic moonshot at Shopware. This is not a "wait for requirements" kind of role. You operate as an entrepreneur inside Shopware, acting like an owner. You will drive ideas from inception to production.
This position can be filled on-site, hybrid, or full-remote within Germany or specific European countries where we are registered. Your work location will be agreed upon in advance and forms the basis of your employment contract.
Build what is next: You live in our customers' relative future. Push the edge of what is possible with the latest in AI, often without documentation or playbooks.
End-to-end ownership: responsibility for your bets from idea to production.
Ship fast: You can just ship things, both because you have the permission to and because you are comfortable iterating in public.
Design AI-first interfaces that don't exist yet: Rethink interaction patterns from first principles for agentic systems and natural language surfaces.
Make complexity disappear: Transform powerful agentic capabilities into interfaces so intuitive that merchants forget they're using AI.
Prototype in code: Use AI tools to rapidly build functional prototypes that test hypotheses about how humans and agents interact.
Ship design systems that evolve: Build flexible, composable UI components that adapt as AI capabilities advance.

Comfort with imperfection: You ship "good enough" designs quickly, learn from real usage, and iterate based on data.
Strong ideas loosely held: You have strong design convictions, but change your mind instantly when evidence proves you wrong or the team needs you to.
Pattern recognition across domains: You study AI interfaces beyond commerce and adapt the best ideas for our context.
AI-augmented design process: You use AI to 10x your output, from research synthesis to variant generation to accessibility testing and beyond.
Technical fluency: You understand APIs, data models, and system constraints well enough to design what's (barely) possible.
