Loft is looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T) Technician to support the build-up and testing of spacecraft and flight hardware. You’ll collaborate with engineers and technicians to bring spacecraft from drawing to orbit — taking pride in both craftsmanship and ownership of our builds.
About the Role:
Assemble, integrate, and test satellite systems (mechanical, electrical, thermal)Follow detailed drawings and schematics to perform precise build-upsPerform functional and environmental testing on satellite componentsTroubleshoot and resolve hardware and integration issuesMaintain lab cleanliness and hardware organizationDocument test results, build logs, and non-conformancesUse specialized tools (e.g., soldering irons, crimpers, torque wrenches, oscilloscopes)
Must Haves:
3+ years of hands-on experience in aerospace, space, or high-tech manufacturingStrong electrical or mechanical build experience (depending on position)Electrical: Harnessing, soldering, board assembly, con testingMechanical: Structural assembly, solar arrays, reaction wheelsAbility to interpret engineering drawings and assembly proceduresComfortable working with engineers and independently owning workExperience using basic tools and test equipment (multi-meters, torque tools, etc.)
Nice to Haves:
IPC or J-STD certifications (soldering, harnessing)Cleanroom or flight hardware experienceERP (NetSuite/ION) familiaritySpace domain experience (preferred), or medical/high-tech backgroundForklift or crane certificationA&P license or equivalent
