Our client is a MedTech startup developing an AI-powered Mixed-Reality (MR) surgical navigator, transforming medical education, diagnosis and treatment planning.
In order to accelerate sales cycles, ensuring customer success, and feeding real-world insights back into product development, they are looking for an Applications Engineer to drive market adoption of the platform while ensuring robust technical implementation and support.
The ideal candidate understands how to generate, assess, and capitalize on market traction, while also possessing the technical capability to deploy, configure, and troubleshoot both the software and hardware components.
The person will report to the CEO, will participate in investor meetings (preparing for Series A funding) and will be required to travel (must not have any restrictions, particularly for the United States).
Your Mission
Sales, Marketing & Engineering Integration
- Act as a technical bridge between engineering, sales, and marketing teams.
- Support sales efforts through technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept deployments.
- Translate customer needs and market signals into technical requirements and use cases.
- Participate in conferences, trade shows, and customer meetings as a technical expert.
Technical Deployment & Support
- Install, configure, and customize the HoloRay platform for customers and pilot projects.
- Set up, integrate, and maintain both software features and associated hardware.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues in collaboration with the engineering team.
- Deliver technical training and onboarding to customers and internal teams.
Customer Success & Product Feedback
- Serve as a trusted technical point of contact for customers.
- Gather structured feedback from users to inform product improvements.
- Identify recurring issues, feature gaps, and opportunities for product evolution.
- Contribute to documentation, best practices, and deployment guides.
Market Traction & Growth Support
- Help assess product-market fit through field experience and customer engagement.
- Support early adopters and reference customers to build market credibility.
- Assist in converting pilots and trials into long-term customer engagements.
Your Profile
Technical skills
- BSc. Degree – computer science or software engineering (or related field)
- 3+ years of experience in a technical customer-facing role such as Applications Engineer, Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Technical Support Engineer
- Experience working with complex software platforms and integrated hardware systems
- Strong understanding of software systems, configuration, and integration
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across software and hardware layers
- Familiarity with cloud-based platforms and SaaS environments
- Fluent in English and Intermediate French is mandatory, bilingual ideally
Assets:
- Experience with AR/VR/MR technologies, medical technology, imaging, healthcare IT, or life sciences
- Exposure to 3D visualization, spatial computing, or immersive technologies
- Previous startup experience or work in early-stage product commercialization
Softskills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Strong customer orientation and problem-solving mindset
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary startup environment
