Location: Argentina, Buenos Aires
We are a global technology group, headquartered in London.
We deploy experts and frontier technologies, such as AI, to help organisations thrive through
change.
We have over 600 professionals (over 75% hands-on technical talent) across Europe, North
America, and Asia.
We help customers:
Work smarter – Building modern, scalable infrastructure, apps, and workflows that actually
improve your bottom line.
Engage personally – Creating digital experiences that capture attention, convert sales, and
keep customers coming back.
Stay secure – Establishing the security, governance and compliance systems that protect
you from threats, fines, and downtime.
We work with some of the world’s biggest brands to solve their biggest problems. From
highly regulated financial institutions to fast-moving tech unicorns and global retailers.
Different worlds, same standard: we ship tangible outcomes into production, fast. Then we
work alongside customers to maintain and optimise their operations long-term, upskilling
their teams along the way.
At Qodea, we believe in work that leaves a mark. This role is for innovative people who
thrive on solving problems without answers, for those accountable for tangible outcomes,
and for individuals who act with integrity when it absolutely has to work.
Here, you will be responsible for establishing and leading a high-quality Argentina-based
engineering Centre of Excellence. This is not a traditional delivery centre — it is a team of
exceptional engineers serving some of the world’s biggest companies across cloud
infrastructure, data engineering, and AI/ML. You will build the team, define the engineering
culture, set technical standards, and integrate Argentinian engineers seamlessly with
onshore US and European teams to deliver enterprise-grade cloud and AI services.
We want this to be one of the best places to work for engineers in Argentina — a centre
known for its engineering culture, craft, and the quality of its people. Business language at
Qodea is English, and our onsite Leader is expected to have a strong command of business
-level Spanish language skills.
Engineering Culture & Excellence
• Engineering Vision: Define and champion the engineering culture for the Argentina
centre — establishing standards for quality, governance, peer review, and continuous
improvement that attract and retain top talent.
• Google Cloud Centre of Excellence: Build the best Google Cloud centre of
excellence in Latin America. Drive Google Cloud certification and training across the
team, ensuring engineers achieve and maintain relevant Google Cloud
specialisations. Argentina centre should be seen as a flagship for Google Cloud
delivery quality in the region.
• AI-Native Team Building: Build an AI-native engineering team from day one.
Ensure engineers are equipped to work with coding agents and the latest Google AI
tooling.
• Technical Quality Bar: Set and maintain the standard for engineering excellence.
Evaluate architectural decisions, challenge technical approaches, and ensure every
solution meets enterprise expectations for security, resilience, and performance.
• Best Place to Work: Create an engineering environment that is genuinely one of the
best in Argentina — built on community, belonging, pride in craftsmanship, and a
commitment to continuous learning and growth.
• Team Building: Lead all recruitment for the Argentina centre, scaling from zero to
50–90 engineers within the first six months. Design hiring processes and technical
assessment frameworks that maintain a consistently high bar.
• Talent Strategy: Build comprehensive talent strategies including learning
programmes, certification pathways, Google Cloud specialisations, and clear career
progression frameworks.
• Upskilling & Coaching: Act as a mentor and leader to develop local skill sets,
ensuring every team member meets the high standards required. Develop future
engineering leaders, not just engineers.
• Final Hiring Approval: Direct oversight of all hiring decisions. Every engineer joining
the Argentina team meets this role’s quality bar.
• General Management: Lead and drive all actions for the launch of the Argentina
centre, including office search and selection, operational setup, and recruitment at
pace.
• Executive Representation: Serve as the senior face of the organisation for high-
level regional stakeholders and Google-aligned partners.
• Americas Business Development: Support the President in sales initiatives and
regional growth across the Americas region.
• Seamless Integration: Ensure the Argentina team operates as a fully integrated part
of the global delivery model — not an offshore adjunct, but equal peers working
alongside US and European colleagues.
• Process Alignment: Member of the Global Delivery leadership team, working to
eliminate operational silos between locations.
• Client Assurance: Provide senior oversight to ensure solutions meet enterprise
expectations and that clients experience a single, unified team regardless of
geography.
• Strategic Partnership: Work in close lockstep with the President (Executive
Sponsor) and the CDO to ensure regional operations align with global strategic
goals.
• Leadership Presence: Provide senior, on-the-ground leadership to drive a culture of
engineering excellence, innovation, and accountability within the local centre.
• Inspiration: Inspire teams through personal credibility, technical understanding, and
a genuine commitment to building something exceptional.
• Global Strategy & Standards: Reports directly to the Chief Delivery Officer (CDO).
• Regional Performance & Sponsorship: Reports regionally to the President of
Americas.
As a Qodea leader, you are expected to embody our leadership ethos. This involves
supportive people management, shaping team direction, driving strategic team decisions,
and actively championing our culture of innovation, accountability, and integrity to enhance
the employee experience and ensure team success.
• Technology Leadership: Strong technical background with deep experience in
technology leadership. Someone who understands engineering at a practitioner level,
knows what best-in-class looks like, and can earn the credibility and respect of senior
engineers. They don’t need to have been an engineer themselves, but they must
have operated closely across engineering teams and be able to evaluate
architectural decisions, set quality bars, and distinguish good from great.
• Cloud, Data & AI Expertise: Deep familiarity with cloud infrastructure, data
engineering, and AI/ML — enough to hold informed conversations with engineers,
challenge technical approaches, and make sound decisions about team capability
and direction.
• AI-Native Mindset: Forward-thinking about building AI-native teams and integrating
AI/ML practices into delivery. Understands where the industry is heading and is
building for that future.
• Engineering Culture Builder: Proven experience creating engineering cultures that
attract and retain exceptional talent. A vision for what “best place to work” looks like
for an engineering team — community, belonging, and pride in craftsmanship.
• Scaling & Team Building: Demonstrable experience scaling an engineering team or
centre of excellence from the ground up. Has designed hiring processes, technical
assessment frameworks, talent strategies, learning programmes, and clear career
progression.
• International Experience: Proven experience working in an international
environment for international clients. Experience integrating distributed engineering
teams across time zones and cultures.
• Fluent English: This person will interact daily with US and European stakeholders
and clients. Fluent English is non-negotiable.
• Leadership: The ability to inspire, develop, and retain top engineering talent.
Develops future leaders, not just manages headcount. Sets the tone for a culture of
excellence.
• Google Cloud experience or certifications
• Experience scaling delivery centres in Latin America, with Argentina being highly
desirable
• Existing network within the Argentinian engineering community
• Commercial acumen and experience supporting business development
• This role is aligned with Qodea’s career framework at Level 6: Director. Review the

behaviours for this level.
• Exceptional performance can lead to advancement opportunities within our career
framework or internal opportunities with other departments, aligned with your career
aspirations and business needs.
