At Alamar, we are passionate about enabling our customers to make scientific discoveries that translate into clinical outcomes and benefit patients. Our team is growing quickly as we develop innovative approaches to measure critical protein biomarkers from liquid samples that can enable the earliest possible detection of disease. We believe the next frontier in biology is enabled by measuring proteins at higher sensitivity in highly multiplexed assays at the push of a button, which is something only Alamar can do. As we build our team, we seek collaborative, driven, intellectually curious people committed to solving complex challenges. Our culture rewards accountability and cross functional teamwork because we believe this enables the kind of breakthrough thinking that will accelerate our mission.
We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist II to join the Content Development team. In this role, you will support the development, optimization, and characterization of NULISA-based immunoassays and multiplex proteomic panels across diverse disease areas. You will work closely with cross-functional partners including R&D, Manufacturing, Bioinformatics, and related teams to ensure robust assay performance and high-quality deliverables.
The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on immunoassay execution skills, a solid foundation in data analysis, and the ability to contribute effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative product development environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support the development, optimization, and characterization of single-plex and multiplex NULISA immunoassays across diverse biological matrices.
- Perform routine assay development experiments to evaluate assay sensitivity, specificity, detectability, precision, and reproducibility.
- Assist with data analysis and interpretation, including assessment of cross-reactivity and matrix effects, to support assay optimization and development decisions.
- Generate, analyze, and summarize PCR and NGS datasets associated with NULISA assay workflows.
- Execute experiments following established protocols and contribute to troubleshooting efforts through structured investigation and root-cause analysis.
- Support product and assay transfer activities by generating transfer-ready data, contributing to assay documentation, and assisting with knowledge transfer to product development team or partner teams.
- Maintain accurate experimental records and contribute to technical documentation, including SOPs, assay summaries, and assay or reagent transfer–related materials.
- Prepare clear data summaries and presentations for internal team discussions and project reviews.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support project execution, timelines, and product readiness.
Skills & Requirements
- M.S. in Immunology, Neuroscience, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related discipline with 2–4 years of relevant industry experience; a B.S. with substantial hands-on industry experience will also be considered.
- Hands-on experience executing and optimizing immunoassays (e.g., ELISA); exposure to multiplex or high-sensitivity platforms (e.g., Simoa, MSD, Luminex) is a plus.
- Experience with generating and/or analyzing PCR and NGS sequencing datasets is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of proteomics, biomarker research, or translational assay development.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to execute experiments reproducibly in a product-driven or regulated laboratory environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Motivation to learn, adapt, and grow technical depth within content and assay development.
