Job Description:
Provide high level industrial programming, specifically in Vision Automation, Robotics, and PLCs. Required to interface with multiple automation systems and have a strong understanding on industrial communication protocols.  On site installations with potential multiday travel will be required as needed.  Regular customer communication to ensure clear expectations. Strong willingness to learn new hardware and software as ACI continues to build its hardware portfolio. Display commitment and passion for the success of the Applied Controls Inc. Solutions Department.
 
Goals:
            Support the Applied Controls Solutions Department with technical capabilities in the programming of automated systems primarily focused on robotics and industrial vision systems.  Support/manage the design, build, and installation of industrial equipment.  Fulfill customer requirements for Factory Acceptance Testing of the installed systems.  As a small team, the position will be required to be flexible and a self-starter with a passion to succeed
 

Duties, Responsibilities, Expectations:

  • Industrial Programming expertise
  • Robotic programming
  • PLC/HMI Programming
  • Cognex Vision System Programming
  • Strong understanding and capability to implement communications between a wide variety of industrial systems
  • Broad range of electro-mechanical technical and product knowledge
  • Capability to wire small control cabinets
  • Capability to construct the designed solutions mechanical components
  • Strong understanding of electro-mechanical systems
  • Maintain a current understanding Applied Controls primary product lines
  • Understanding of industry’s safety requirements
  • Customer Management
  • Maintain Strong relations with Solutions Group customers
  • Ensure regular status updates and communication with customers
  • Provide high level customer service
  • Company Knowledge
  • Understand all position appropriate company & vendor processes and systems (P21, TDF, EbSync, Siemens, Cognex, Sick, UR)
  • Meeting etiquette (understand who’s participating, who should participate, meeting location, expected outcome, who’s documenting or notetaking, follow-up actions)
  • Product training
  • Maintain training certifications as required
  • Support off-site and on-site trainings as required
  • Support and train internal employees on Applied Controls systems and hardware.

  • Support time estimates for required work
  • Work within a team to solve new problems as they arise

  • Flexibility to fulfill requests as provided by manager on a timely manner
  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Engineering or Software)
  • Three years of industry experience
