For a large-scale civil infrastructure project in Ghent, we are looking for a BIM Project Manager. In this role, you are responsible for planning, managing, and delivering BIM activities in line with agreed timelines, resources, and budgets.

You will lead BIM projects from start to finish, coordinating multidisciplinary teams (structural, architectural, and MEP) while ensuring compliance with contractual BIM requirements and standards.

Your Role : At project and BIM management level

Understand contractual BIM requirements and translate them into a clear BIM scope.

Define BIM information workflows and key procedures.

Identify required BIM resources and organise training where needed.

Define BIM ICT requirements (software and hardware).

Establish and monitor a BIM schedule aligned with the overall project planning.

Estimate and control the BIM budget.

Lead and support BIM Leads across disciplines (Structure, Architecture, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire, Electrical & IT, Communication Systems, 3D scanning, QS, Methods, and Coordination).

Act as the main BIM point of contact internally and towards clients, partners, and subcontractors.

Contribute to BIM technical requirements and interface definitions for subcontractors.

Organise and chair BIM management and coordination meetings.

Report to the Design Manager during the design phase and to the Technical Manager from construction documentation through handover.

Produce BIM progress reports at agreed intervals.

Develop and maintain the BIM Management Plan in collaboration with stakeholders, aligned with overall project objectives.

Your Role : At information management level

Apply and monitor BIM information workflows and procedures.

Ensure reliable information exchange through a Common Data Environment (CDE).

Manage, receive, and maintain the Information Model.

Manage IFC exchanges and information structures.

Configure information for project outputs.

Coordinate BIM data backup and recovery with ICT teams.

Manage access rights for stakeholders, including subcontractors and client.

Facilitate integrated design coordination through model compilation (clash detection).

Ensure consistency and quality of BIM models through QA/QC processes.

Validate BIM model compliance with standards in collaboration with BIM Leads.

Your Profile

Master’s degree in Construction Engineering or Architecture.

At least 5 years of experience as a BIM Manager; experience on large projects (+25M) is an advantage.

Strong knowledge of modelling software such as Revit, Civil 3D, Tekla, and Archicad.

Proficiency with BIM coordination tools including Navisworks Manage, Solibri, and Revizto.

Experience with CDE platforms; advanced knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud (Docs & Build) is a plus.

Excellent knowledge of ISO 19650 and open BIM standards (IFC, IDM, IFD, COBie, BCF).

Experience with 4D and 5D BIM processes is an advantage.

Experience with Grasshopper and/or Dynamo is a plus.

Well-organised, able to perform under time pressure and manage priorities.

Strong understanding of construction processes and multidisciplinary coordination.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Professional leadership style with the ability to motivate and guide teams.

Fluent in Dutch and English; knowledge of French is an asset.
