About the role

You will play a key role in Abatable’s growth, helping climate-conscious organisations to effectively navigate, access, and finance high-integrity climate solutions, thereby fostering enduring positive effects on the environment and society at large. You will become an expert on the Abatable platform covering our sourcing, market intelligence and advisory services, helping to identify new business opportunities and driving them to closure.

What you’ll be doing

Your core focus will be driving new commercial opportunities and owning the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing, in order to consistently achieve or exceed your sales targets.

  • Lead Generation: Proactively identify and engage potential corporate clients with VCM needs through targeted outreach event participation, responding to inbound enquiries and leveraging your own network.
  • Client Relationship Building: Build trusted partnerships with sustainability and procurement leaders, understanding their goals and challenges.
  • Solution Design: Collaborate cross-functionally to develop tailored proposals that align with client strategies.
  • Sales Process Ownership: Manage the full sales cycle from first contact to contract signature, including commercial negotiation and coordination with legal.
  • CRM & Pipeline Management: Maintain accurate deal tracking in HubSpot and support forecasting and reporting across both transactional and recurring revenue streams.
  • Market Insight Sharing: Act as the voice of the customer, sharing client insights and market trends back into Abatable’s strategy, product roadmap, and marketing efforts.

Who we’re looking for

  • Sales Expertise: You are an established Business Development Manager with 5+ years of experience and a strong B2B sales record.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong preference for someone with experience in the voluntary carbon market.
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented: You take ownership when challenges block progress and thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Adaptability / Embraces change: You are comfortable with uncertainty and can evolve with the business as it responds to market changes
  • High integrity: You are committed to doing what’s right, even when it’s not the easiest route.
