We are expanding our portfolio to include cutting-edge data centre development projects and are therefore seeking experienced data centre professionals.
Goodman is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager (based in Madrid) to join our expanding Data Centre project team. The ideal candidate will drive new sales and revenue growth in a Spain. Primary function of the role is to prospect for new client relationships with enterprise Spanish customers, including MSE (Madrid Stock Exchange)-listed and large/mid-sized companies. Your proactive, hunter mindset will be crucial as you engage with target customers, attend industry events, workshops, and fairs, and manage the entire lead-to-contract process. The Business Development Manager is expected to use consultative selling skills along with a strong understanding of the data centre and technology industries to discover opportunities and achieve quota attainment in the enterprise/wholesale co-location segment. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate consistent historic success in developing new client relationships by meeting or exceeding sales targets in the sector. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high growth listed real estate and infrastructure organization with significant earnings potential.

Key Responsibilities:
- Initiate, create and execute the new business sales strategy and annual plans aimed at prospective and newly acquired accounts in Spain.
- Leads sales strategy and process in the region and utilization of all available resources to acquire new accounts.
- Maintains long-term relationships with key accounts.
- Proactively create and build relationships with decision makers up to C-suite level at prospective and newly acquired customers.
- Identify, qualify, pursue (design and propose), negotiate and profitably close net new business, in close collaboration with local management, operations team, and legal.
- Leverage and direct sales engineering, marketing and overlay resources as appropriate.
- Maintaining subject matter knowledge of colocation product offerings and pricing.
- Present Goodman’s compelling value proposition at a highly experienced level.
Do you recognize yourself?
- Minimum of 10 years of proven success in a consultative selling area, ideally engaging with C-level executives in the IT Services/data centre/telco/network environment.
- Familiarity with Iberian and mediterranean marketplace, companies and community.
- Strong network of partners relationships.
- A track record of closing sales of Data Centre / Co-Location solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of and skilled in contract interpretation, negotiations and project management.
- Strength in problem solving, issue-resolution, ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
- Fluency in English, and Spanish (other languages are an asset).
- Excellent written, numerical and communication capabilities.
- Energy, enthusiasm and strong self-motivational skills.
