Monomoy Advisors is looking for an entrepreneurial, highly motivated, experienced, detail oriented, confident and consultative professional to join our growing team as Chief Financial Officer to support our clients. As a key member of the team, this individual will be an integral member of a small but growing team of hard-working and experienced interim finance professionals. The candidate must have a strong background and knowledge of financial reporting, internal operations, capital formation/raising, budgeting/ forecasting, and tax matters from a very basic level to the highest-level issues applicable to our industry as they evolve over time. The candidate must be equipped to assess and resolve complex issues related to our clients.
In this highly visible role as a Chief Financial Officer, the candidate will be responsible for all accounting, financial reporting, operations, audit, and tax, and is also responsible in part for investor relations and compliance . Our clients rely on our CFOs for sound advice on a number of subject matters and to be the point person for maintaining the structural integrity of their financial operations. The CFO is an integral member of the client’s management team and will collaborate on strategic planning for current and future client endeavors.
In addition to being an active interim Chief Financial Officer, this role involves further developing our Interim Finance practice area. As part of this responsibility the candidate will be responsible for driving our sales and marketing efforts to generate new business for themselves and others from various sources including private and public companies, venture capital and private equity funds as well as other referral sources in the professional service area. The role also involves providing leadership to our talented group of interim finance professionals in area such as recruiting, staff development as well as knowledge management.

In This Opportunity, Your Main Responsibilities Will Include
- Ownership of all financial aspects of clients operations
- Drive client’s financial planning and analysis as well as forecasting activities
- Evaluate client’s fundraising needs and optimal capital structure
- Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the client’s operations
- Supervise all finance personnel (controllers, treasurers, etc.)
- Set up and oversee the company’s finance IT system
- Prepare slides and present status of financial operations of the Company to the board
- Focus on investor relations, deal-making (financing, M & A), governance, reporting, etc.
- Hands-on and integrated into day-to-day of the business
- Lead market development activity for the practice area and drive sales to completion
- Recruit, evaluate and motivate team of high performing members
- Active contributor to internal initiatives such as knowledge management
- Positive team member in helping to continue to build and define our culture
Minimum Experience, Education, and Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
Must thrive in a fast-paced, self-starting, growing, and innovative environment where agility, resourcefulness, and resiliency skills are key. Excellent interpersonal with an ability to develop important relationships with client stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s Degree, Accounting or Finance
- Certified Public Accountant license or MBA, Accounting or Finance
- At least 20 years of diversified finance experience with minimum of 5 years of CFO experience
- Expertise in Excel (not just working knowledge) is required
- Ability to decipher complex legal terms and apply them to financial accounting
- Superior analytical and organizational abilities with a keen focus on detail and 100% accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong management and supervisory skills
- Ability to work on a peer level with outside firms on finance and audit matters
- Works well under pressure
- Ability to prioritize work while balancing team and individual responsibilities
- Ability to lead our operations team to meet strict reporting deadlines and deal closing dates
- Comfort in driving sales activities including leveraging existing as well as building new relationships
Travel: Minimal travel throughout the U.S. may be required.
