About Aspora

People on the move deserve a bank that moves with them. Since 2022, Aspora has been building a borderless financial operating system that makes money as mobile and transparent as its users.

Backed by influential venture capitalists like Sequoia Capital, Greylock Partners, Hummingbird Ventures, Y Combinator & Global Founders Capital. We're a team of 75+ across India, the UK, the UAE, EU and the US, working with extreme ownership, radical candour, and an obsession with customer impact.

We celebrate builders who question assumptions, ship fast, and turn regulatory complexity into elegant solutions. If you’re driven to redefine what global banking can be, we’d love to build the future with you.

About this Role :

We’re looking for a Compliance Analyst – AML & KYB to play a key role in strengthening Aspora’s global compliance backbone as we scale.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong AML / KYB expertise with sound judgement and stakeholder partnership. You’ll work at the intersection of compliance, fraud, product, and operations — owning critical workflows while helping design smarter, more scalable risk controls.

You will be a senior individual contributor (5–7 years experience), with direct exposure to global MLROs and Compliance Officers, and meaningful influence on how compliance operates across jurisdictions.

What You’ll Do :

Compliance Operations & Risk Ownership

  • Own end-to-end B2B due diligence (KYB) and ongoing monitoring for merchants, vendors, suppliers, and third-party partners.

  • Lead reverse KYB / reverse due diligence processes — coordinating documentation, preparing standard compliance packs, and ensuring high-quality, timely responses to partner requests.

  • Strengthen third-party risk assessment frameworks and flag potential red flags, mitigants, or control enhancements.

Fraud, Data & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Act as the primary compliance partner to Fraud, Ops, Product, Data Insights, and KYC Ops teams.

  • Collaborate on fraud case management workflows, escalation frameworks, dashboards, and reporting.

  • Ensure compliance perspectives are embedded early in business and product decision-making.

Governance, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Support Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessments (EWRA), data protection initiatives, and global compliance programs.

  • Partner with MLROs and Compliance Officers across regions to deliver structured reporting, including inputs for senior leadership and Board updates.

  • Identify process gaps and drive automation, standardisation, and workflow improvements across jurisdictions.

Training & Compliance Culture

  • Own the compliance training platform — tracking completion, following up on overdue items, and identifying new training needs.

  • Help build awareness and consistency in AML / KYB practices across the organisation.

Who We’re Looking For / Experience & Skills :

  • 5–7 years of experience in Compliance, AML, Fraud, Risk, KYB, or Third-Party Due Diligence.

  • Prior experience in FinTech, Payments, Digital Assets, or regulated financial institutions is strongly preferred.

  • Proven ability to independently own investigations, onboarding risk assessments, or financial crime control initiatives.

  • Strong understanding of AML / CTF frameworks, KYB workflows, and financial crime risks in cross-border or digital environments.

Regulatory & Domain Knowledge

  • Comfortable working with global AML / CFT standards and risk-based compliance frameworks.

  • Ability to quickly upskill on jurisdiction-specific regulatory requirements and apply them in practice.

Mindset & Traits

  • Strong stakeholder partner — able to influence without authority and engage confidently with senior leaders.

  • Judgement-led operator — can form a clear risk view, document it, and stand behind decisions.

  • Clear communicator — able to translate complex risk topics into structured, practical guidance.

  • Highly organised and reliable — comfortable managing multiple workstreams in a fast-moving environment.

  • Curious and growth-oriented — keeps learning as regulations, products, and risks evolve.

Professional Certifications (Nice-to-Have)

  • CAMS (ACAMS) or equivalent AML certification.

  • ICA Diploma / Certificate in AML or Financial Crime.

What Success Looks Like :

Within your first 90 days, you will:

  • Develop a strong understanding of Aspora’s products, partners, and global compliance framework.

  • Build trusted working relationships with Fraud, Data, Ops, and Compliance stakeholders across regions.

  • Independently own B2B due diligence and reverse KYB workflows with minimal supervision.

  • Be recognised as a go-to compliance partner — balancing precision, pragmatism, and sound judgement.

Why Join Aspora :

  • Help shape a modern, global compliance function from the inside.

  • Work closely with founders and senior leaders on high-impact risk and growth decisions.

  • Gain exposure to complex cross-border payments, third-party risk, and global AML standards.

  • Operate in a culture that values ownership, clarity of thought, and intelligent risk-taking.

  • Competitive compensation and meaningful ESOPs.

Interview Process :

We move fast and keep the process focused and transparent.

  1. Round 1: Resume Deep Dive & AML / KYB Core Competency (60 mins)

  2. Round 2: Case Study – Risk Judgement & Stakeholder Management (90 mins)

  3. Round 3: Culture, Ethics & Bar Raiser (60 mins)
