Location: Treatment South, a multi-site role covering Ardley IVC, Ufton IVC, Etwall IVC, Poplars AD, and Walpole AD. This is a hybrid position where you will manage your own diary, work from home when appropriate, and provide on-site support across the facilities as required.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
A quick look at the role.
The Compliance Manager provides division-wide governance and assurance across all Treatment South organics assets, including three In-Vessel Composting facilities and two Anaerobic Digestion plants. The role ensures every site operates safely, compliantly, and audit-ready, while strengthening long-term compliance capability through training, systems assurance, and continuous improvement.
Your core responsibilities.
- Provide division-wide regulatory compliance oversight across IVC and AD facilities, ensuring adherence to EA permits, APHA regulations, PAS100, PAS110, and environmental reporting requirements.
- Act as the central subject matter expert for regulatory interpretation, supporting inspections, audits, site visits, and the effective close-out of actions and non-conformances.
- Lead compliance governance for Fire Prevention Plans, incidents, enforcement actions, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking.
- Own audit readiness across all sites, coordinating internal and external audits and providing independent assurance on compliance performance and risk.
- Provide oversight and assurance of compliance-critical systems, including Eco-Online, SCADA, SharePoint, document control, and sampling data, driving consistency and data integrity.
- Design and maintain compliance training frameworks and competence matrices, building leadership capability and a proactive compliance culture.
- Partner with commercial and technical teams to ensure technical standards, monitoring, and reporting processes meet regulatory expectations.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying trends, standardising best practice, and escalating emerging compliance risks to senior management.
Requirements
Our essential requirements.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Proven experience with PAS100 and PAS110 compliance, including regulatory engagement with the Environment Agency and APHA.
- Experience managing multiple waste streams and ensuring compliant processing and disposal at end of process.
- Strong working knowledge of health and safety legislation within high-risk industrial or waste environments.
- Experience liaising with external regulators and supporting audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001) and the ability to interpret legislation and translate it into practical site requirements.
