As a Computational Nonlinear Optical Physicist you will apply your skills to bring inexhaustible, carbon-free, and commercially viable inertial fusion energy through rigorous scientific investigation and innovative engineer. You will work with Xcimer and its scientific partners developing cutting-edge computational modeling tools for the propagation of high intensity beams utilizing stimulated Raman and Brillouin scattering (SRRS / SBS), through neutral gas cells and plasmas. You will be an integral part of a design effort to optimize multi-pumped-beam driven amplifiers and pulse compressors, and work with our engineering team to build and test them. These designs are for the staged demonstration of unprecedented, multi-megajoule-scale, inertial fusion energy drivers.  We are looking for our scientists to apply their technical expertise, problem solving skills, dedication, passion, and vision to positively impact the future of energy!

Xcimer operates under a flexible Paid Time Off (ATO) approach. Rather than a fixed number of vacation days, employees are trusted to take the time they need to rest and recharge while meeting the expectations of their role and team. In addition, employees receive paid sick time, 13 company-paid holidays, and an annual paid company shutdown. Benefits are available to regular employees, including part-time and fixed-term roles, as well as interns, with eligibility varying by benefit.
