About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to manage commercial real estate construction projects across our growing portfolio. This role will manage projects from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to quality standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience building a variety of facilities and thrives in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the construction of a variety of facilities from entitlement through final delivery
Oversee general contractors, subcontractors, architects, and engineers
Lead pre-construction activities, including budgeting, scheduling, value engineering, and constructability reviews
Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and cost controls
Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, safety, and quality
Review and approve pay applications, change orders, and contracts
Ensure compliance with local codes, zoning requirements, and safety regulations
Coordinate with internal teams including development, acquisitions, and operations
Manage project closeout, including punch lists, warranties, and turnover to operations
Required Qualifications
5+ years of construction management experience
Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and sequencing
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Experience with budgeting, cost tracking, and schedule management
Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam)
Strong communication and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working for a self-storage developer, owner/operator, or GC specializing in storage
Knowledge of steel buildings, CMU, tilt-up, and climate-controlled storage construction
OSHA certification
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
