Come help us build something exceptional at Assembly Health. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to our Chief Financial Officer.

What you will do

  • Own the integrity of the general ledger, journal entries and all GAAP financial reporting.
  • Oversee core accounting functions including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Lead the monthly close process, prepare consolidated financial statements, and support cash flow forecasting and management.
  • Integrate newly acquired entities into the consolidated accounting environment and drive systems and process standardization across the organization.
  • Deliver meaningful financial and operational reporting on a weekly and monthly basis that drives accountability, transparency, and informed decision-making at all levels of the organization.
  • Design, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate annual audits and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Track tax payments and oversee the annual tax filing process with external partners.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop members of the accounting team to build a high-performing function.
  • Other duties as assigned or required by the business

What it takes to join the Team

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
  • CPA is required and prior experience in a public accounting firm is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of progressively responsible accounting / finance experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role (Controller / Deputy Controller) preferably within a multi-site or healthcare / operational environment.
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, financial reporting and audit standards.
  • Proven track record leading accounting teams: recruitment, coaching, development, performance management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills: ability to translate complex financial information into actionable insights, influence non-financial stakeholders, present to senior leadership / board.
  • Advanced technical proficiency, including expert-level Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX / MATCH, etc.) and experience with ERP / accounting systems (Intacct and Paylocity highly preferred).
  • High integrity, strong ethics and attention to detail; as the financial steward of the organization you will own accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ability to drive change and operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment (PE-owned, scaling healthcare business).

Compensation for this role is based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws. The expected salary range for this position reflects these considerations and may vary accordingly. In addition to base pay, eligible employees may have the opportunity to participate in company bonus programs.
