We’re seeking a seasoned Controller with strong accounting fundamentals and operational literacy to lead our Accounting department and drive continuous improvement. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, has expertise with inventory-heavy balance sheets, and has experience scaling processes from a larger organization to suit a more nimble team. You’ll be a key partner to the CFO as you help to bring structure, visibility, and accountability to our growing business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting
- Prepare for and lead the external audit process, working closely with auditors and internal stakeholders
- Oversee inventory accounting and cost accounting, ensuring accurate product costing and inventory valuation
- Manage and improve accounting processes around consignment inventory, inbound/outbound logistics, and warehousing
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices
- Own compliance, controls, and documentation for SOX-lite standards
- Supervise and develop accounting staff, ensuring high performance and growth
- Maintain and optimize ERP system usage (NetSuite) in partnership with internal and external resources
Requirements
Qualifications
- CPA required
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with time spent at companies of varying sizes
- Prior experience in a product-based, inventory-heavy, or consignment business
- Strong expertise in cost accounting and inventory reconciliation
- Proven ability to lead external audits and manage compliance
- Familiarity with NetSuite (or comparable ERP systems)
- Strong process orientation and ability to scale accounting infrastructure
