Last Energy seeks a sharp finance professional to support evaluation and execution of strategic transactions and special projects. This role will work on M&A deals, debt offerings, JV agreements, project finance, sales channel partnerships, and other high-impact initiatives alongside our VP of Corporate Development. These bespoke finance-oriented projects will require both modeling expertise and sharp judgment to identify edge-case risks and structure favorable terms.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Build financial models and conduct scenario analysis for M&A, debt financings, JV structures, project finance, and partnershipsSupport evaluation of strategic transactions from initial analysis through closingConduct due diligence and identify contractual risksDraft customer proposals, board presentations, investor materials, and government financing applicationsAnalyze commercial opportunities across data center, industrial, and utility customer segmentsPartner with engineering and regulatory teams to translate technical complexity into actionable business insightsExecute special finance projects across the organization
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field2-5 years of experience, with 2+ of those years in investment banking (M&A, capital markets)Post-banking experience in private equity, corporate development, or startup (1-2 years preferred)Advanced financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skillsExceptional written and verbal communication skillsSharp judgment and attention to detail in identifying risksTrack record of commitment to seeing projects through to completionSelf-starter who thrives in ambiguity and can manage multiple work streamsMission-driven with a genuine interest in energy, power, and infrastructureEnergetic, relationship-oriented, and adaptableDisciplined, thorough, and extremely focused when neededBased in or willing to relocate to Austin, Texas
