What we’re looking for
As a Data Analyst at SurveyMonkey, you'll be at the forefront of transforming complex data into crystal-clear, actionable insights, directly impacting the evolution and success of the SurveyMonkey core product. You'll play a crucial part in optimizing our product and features for maximum impact, and elevating overall customer satisfaction to new heights. Collaborating closely with innovative product managers, talented engineers, dynamic marketing professionals, and dedicated customer success professionals, you'll uncover critical trends, precisely measure the success of our initiatives, and directly contribute to shaping our data-informed strategic direction. What you’ll be working on
- Conduct in-depth analysis of product data from various sources to identify product usage, feature adoption, key trends, patterns, and insights.
- Work with the Product team to design, execution, and analysis of A/B tests and other experiments to measure the impact of new features or product changes on key metrics.
- Translate complex analytical findings into clear, concise, and compelling narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Respond to urgent business questions with timely and accurate data analysis.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success) to understand their data needs, define KPIs, and provide data-driven recommendations.
- Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using tools Tableau to visualize data and communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.
- Work with the Data Engineering team and Business Intelligence team to ensure accurate collection of data and troubleshoot any data abnormalities.
We’d love to hear from people with
- 5+ years of work experience in data analysis/reporting/analytics or other relevant fields in a tech company.
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation is a must.
- Experience with large datasets and big data technologies (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, AWS Redshift).
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI, Google Data Studio etc.).
- Experience with Product Analytics tools such as Amplitude, Mixpanel or equivalent.
- Understanding of basic statistical concepts (e.g., descriptive and inferential statistics, hypothesis testing, regression analysis).
- Proven ability to lead and own data analysis projects from end-to-end with minimal supervision, consistently driving insightful outcomes and actionable recommendations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to tell a story with numbers clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences not just perform a task.
- Ability to understand business objectives and translate them into analytical questions and insights.
- Familiarity with Python data analysis is a plus.
- Experience in experimentation and A/B testing, partnering with product teams to drive data-informed decisions.
- Must have a degree in computer science or related field.

As such, this opportunity is hybrid and requires you to work from the SurveyMonkey office in Bengaluru 3 days per week.
