Our client is a data and analytics startup that aims to expand knowledge of subscriber behavior so brands can entertain, inspire, and empower the world. They provide industry and competitive benchmarks across key metrics so our customers can know ‘what good looks like’, market intelligence so they can learn how to build a best-in-class business, and insights to inform their strategic decision making.

Join their expanding team as a Data Engineer and play a key role in maintaining and optimizing their core data pipelines to ensure data reliability and seamless delivery. This role requires a solid Python foundation, cloud platform experience, and a passion for automation. Collaborate with top Data Scientists on data science modeling challenges and tackle complex data engineering problems alongside our Data Operations team.

You will report to the TBD. We are looking for candidates who can work during US business hours.

What You’ll Do

  • Monitor, maintain, and improve scalable data pipelines that empower the best-in-class Subscriber Metrics data products.

  • Proactively identify and troubleshoot pipeline failures, and develop corrective action plans when necessary.

  • Support our world-class Data Operations by improving and optimizing data pipelines to meet the challenges of the ever-changing subscription landscape.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure clear communication and efficient delivery of our data.

  • Update and manage critical configuration files (YAML).

  • Contribute to the documentation of processes and procedures.

  • Integrate systems with various data sources such as email receipt data, credit card data, and more.

  • Continuously improve data quality through automated validation and anomaly detection.

Who You Are

  • You have experience applying software engineering best practices (design, code review, error handling, testing, etc.).

  • You enjoy working with data and finding ways to make it more valuable.

  • Automation is fundamental to how you like to solve problems.

  • Proficient in Python, YAML, and SQL.

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform

  • Experience with distributed data processing and data modeling concepts.

  • Web Application development experience. Experience with Django is a plus.

  • 3+ years of experience maintaining data pipelines and data products.

  • Exposure to business intelligence (BI) products and deploying machine learning models is a plus.

  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies.

  • Self-starter with the capacity to deliver on multiple initiatives, prioritize time and resources, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced startup environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Advanced English proficiency (B2-C1) Please submit a resume in English language in the application.
