We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with deep expertise in Oracle databases to design, optimize, and manage enterprise-scale data platforms. The role involves building robust data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and supporting complex data environments within the investment and asset management domain. You will work closely with business and engineering teams to translate data requirements into scalable, high-quality solutions.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries, PL/SQL stored procedures, and Oracle data models.
  • Build and maintain efficient ETL/data pipelines for large-scale data processing.
  • Design and implement data quality checks, validation frameworks, and integrity controls.
  • Reverse engineer and document existing database schemas and complex data relationships.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into technical designs.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and resolve complex database performance and scalability issues.
  • Design and implement integrations between Oracle databases and cloud platforms, including AWS S3.
  • Define documentation standards and ensure comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Lead code reviews and establish best practices for database and data pipeline development.
  • Design and execute data migration strategies from legacy platforms to modern, cloud-based solutions.
  • Actively contribute to Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and technical discussions, providing leadership where required.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience working with Oracle databases, including advanced SQL and PL/SQL development.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling principles and enterprise database design patterns.
  • Proficiency in Python for data processing, automation, and pipeline orchestration.
  • Extensive experience implementing and maintaining data quality and validation frameworks.
  • Proven ability to reverse engineer legacy schemas and understand complex data dependencies.
  • Strong experience with version control systems, preferably Git/GitHub.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments and contributing to technical leadership.
  • Excellent written communication skills for producing clear technical documentation.

Domain Expertise (Must-Have)

  • Strong knowledge of Investment / Asset Management data domains, including:
    • Security reference data
    • Fund reference data
    • Transactions, orders, and holdings
    • Fund accounting and related financial data

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to PySpark or distributed data processing frameworks.
  • Experience working with cloud-native data architectures.
  • Background in data architecture or platform modernization initiatives.
