As a Data Operations Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and efficiency of data platforms and pipelines. You will work at the intersection of data engineering, database administration, and technical operations, supporting critical analytics workflows across the organization. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize databases and data warehouses, while implementing automation and orchestration solutions using Python. Your insights and operational improvements will directly impact business decisions, making this a high-impact role. You will document processes, enforce best practices, and contribute to continuous improvements in the data ecosystem, while having the opportunity to experiment with modern tools and technologies. Accountabilities:
Monitor and troubleshoot databases, data pipelines, workflows, and data warehouses supporting ETL/ELT processesMaintain and optimize orchestration and automation workflows using Python-based toolsDiagnose platform and data issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative solutionsResearch, evaluate, and implement modern solutions for data processing, analytics, and deliveryWork in a ticket-based environment with defined SLAs, ensuring timely resolution of operational issuesDocument SOPs, runbooks, and operational guidelines for technical teamsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support data platform stability and continuous improvementRequirements:
Semi-Senior level experience in IT Data Operations, Data Engineering, or related rolesStrong proficiency in SQL: complex queries, joins, aggregations, and data modelingExperience administering, managing, and tuning databasesHands-on experience with Python for orchestration, automation, and data manipulationExperience working with large-scale data warehouses and related technologiesUnderstanding of software engineering best practices, SDLC, and Agile methodologiesAbility to adapt quickly to new technologies in a fast-changing environmentExperience with ticketing systems and SLA-driven operationsNice-to-have: experience with AWS services (S3, Lambda, Glue), Airflow, Spark, PostgreSQL, Snowflake (including Snowpark and Data Sharing), U.S. healthcare data, and knowledge of HIPAA/GDPR regulationsBenefits:
