The Role:
ControlUp is looking for an experienced Product Designer to help shape the future direction of our platform as part of the Creative team.
What You’ll Do:
Build & Maintain: Take full ownership of our Figma component library. Create, maintain, and optimize complex UI components using advanced features (Auto Layout, Variables, Component Properties).
Documentation: Write clear and comprehensive documentation (using tools like Zeroheight, Storybook, or within Figma) to guide both designers and developers.
Dev Collaboration: Work closely with Frontend teams to ensure design fidelity in code (React/Mobile), including the management of Design Tokens.Define and manage the contribution process. Make strategic decisions on when a component should be part of the core system versus a one-off local solution.
Ownership: Serve as the focal point for the product design team, providing guidance, onboarding, and ensuring correct usage of the system.
Accessibility: Champion accessibility standards (WCAG), ensuring all system components are inclusive and compliant.
Requirements:
Experience: 3+ years of Product Design experience (UI/UX), with at least 1 year dedicated to building or managing a robust Design System.
Figma Mastery: Deep expertise in Figma is non-negotiable. You must be proficient in Styles, Variables, Tokens, and Interactive Components.
Systemic Thinking: Ability to break down complex interfaces into atomic elements and understand the cascading impact of changes across the entire product ecosystem.
Technical Understanding: Experience working with Storybook. Strong understanding of HTML & CSS principles (Box Model, Flexbox),Structure of Atomic Design. You don't need to write production code, but you must understand how your designs are translated into the browser/app.
Communication:Communication and organizational skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with team members along with excellent English (written and verbal) with the ability to articulate technical and design decisions clearly.
Nice to Have
Knowledge of Motion Design and micro-interactions.Background in Frontend development.Experience implementing Dark Mode or Multi-brand theming.
Portfolio required
