In this role, you will lead and oversee all accounting and finance functions for a complex, multi-entity organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and effective management of resources. You will serve as a strategic partner to the executive team, providing insights for budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making. The role encompasses multi-entity financial management, internal controls, audits, and regulatory reporting, while optimizing financial systems and processes. You will manage and develop a high-performing finance team, foster continuous improvement, and ensure financial data supports organizational objectives. This position requires a strong leader with the ability to translate complex financial information into actionable insights, while contributing to the mission and strategic goals of the organization.

Accountabilities:

Lead multi-entity accounting and finance operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and intercompany transactions

Maintain and improve financial systems, internal controls, and compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements

Prepare and oversee consolidated financial statements, management reports, and dashboards for organizational leadership

Manage annual audits, 990 filings, and other required regulatory reports, liaising with external auditors and regulatory agencies

Provide strategic financial guidance to executives, department heads, and program staff to support decision-making and resource allocation

Support grant and donor reporting processes to ensure programmatic compliance and effective financial management

Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team, promoting operational efficiency and professional growth

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred

7+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including 3–5 years in a multi-entity nonprofit environment managing budgets of $10M+

Proven experience with audits, regulatory filings, and intercompany financial management

Proficiency with NetSuite or comparable accounting software

Strong analytical, strategic, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data for varied stakeholders

Demonstrated commitment to advancing organizational mission and equity

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and foster a high-performing finance team
