Nebula New York $100k - $120k 3 days ago
marketing

This description is a wishlist, not a checklist. We want to find a super-amazing person to join our team, and we're well aware that “super-amazing" can come in all different forms. If you're a little less experienced on a specific bullet point, or if you didn't go to a fancy school, apply anyway. We look at candidates, not resumes.

About the Role

Nebula is looking for a Director of Marketing to spearhead its strategy for promoting Nebula Originals, and to oversee the execution of existing campaigns for Nebula products at-large. You’ll work closely with our in-house communications director, the head of our motion pictures division, and other members of our leadership team.

Our ideal candidate is highly creative, an analytical problem-solver who can work with scrappy budgets and teams, and someone with a passion for empowering independent creators. They should have significant experience in a marketing manager or director role, and a drive to make Nebula known.

What We're Looking For

  • 5–8 years in studios marketing for a media company, film studio, or prolific (award-winning) production company.
  • Experience working with digital creators, preferably on ‘per-project‘ campaigns like film or series.
  • Experience delivering creative content marketing by being on set, whipping up media package/press kits, etc.
  • Passion for Nebula’s mission of empowering independent creators + the mission of producing prestige Original content.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the proactive ability to see the success of a marketing campaign as early as the first pitch.
  • Someone with a network of social/media contacts and creative freelancers to make campaign dreams come to fruition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Brand management — build and maintain the voice of the film studio across platforms, leaning heavily on creative intuition and experience.
  • Digital marketing — lead social media strategy, SEO management, email marketing campaigns, and both paid and organic digital ad campaigns.
  • Partnership and collaboration — foster relationships with internal teams, with our creators, and with external media and press partners.
  • Strategic planning — develop, direct, and execute marketing strategies for film and tv releases, studio branding, and content promotion, aligning with overall business objectives.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting — track campaign performance metrics, analyze data, and report on the success of marketing efforts, using insights to refine strategies. Communicate results to teams at all levels of the company, tailoring the message as needed.
  • Budget Management — create and manage marketing budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources while maximizing the impact of promotional efforts.

Perks

  • Competitive salary between $100,000-$120,000 USD. We do not use formal job titles internally and similarly named positions may have different compensation levels.[We do not use formal job titles internally and similarly named positions may have different compensation levels. Actual starting salary will depend on various considerations, including: work experience, skills, specializations, training, and location.]
  • Flexible work hours and vacation policy.
  • Fully work-from-home.
  • Diverse, socially-minded team of nice people.
  • Medical, dental, and vision plans (for US-based employees).
  • 401(k) and other benefits (for US-based employees).

About Us

Nebula is both the largest and fastest growing creator-built premium streaming service. We believe that the future of the creator economy should belong to the creators, and our responsibility is to empower and enable those creators. In 2024, we were listed as one of Fast Company’s “Most Innovative Companies”.

We're a distributed company. We have offices in NYC and Denver, but more than 80% of the team is remote, in exotic locations like the UK, the Netherlands, France, and Ohio.

There are things to do and meetings to be had, but we pride ourselves on our flexibility. We think this makes Nebula a great place to work for people with families, or whose productive hours tend to be outside of the 9-5. We care about what you do more than when you do it.

How We Hire

We think that diversity is important. Many of us have non-traditional backgrounds. We work in the online education space, so we understand how much can be learned on your own, on the Internet, and outside of a classroom.

If that sounds like you, we’re happy to care less how many years of experience you have or where you went to school. Apply anyway. And if you have any feedback on how we could reach or appeal to a more diverse pool of talent, get in touch.

Tip: “tv” is part of our domain, not our name.
