About the Role
As a Director Of Operations with Assistantly, you’ll lead and scale non-clinical operations across both the medical practice and surgery center.
This role serves as the Integrator and right-hand partner to the physician owners, ensuring the business runs efficiently, profitably, and compliantly while enabling providers to focus on delivering exceptional patient care. You will oversee key areas including operational leadership, financial performance, team management, compliance, and patient experience.

Requirements
- Lead day-to-day operations across both facilities, ensuring seamless coordination of scheduling, patient flow, front office, billing support, and administrative functions
- Establish operating rhythms and workflows to drive accountability, consistency, and efficiency across all non-clinical departments
- Oversee revenue-driving operations, including scheduling utilization, cancellations, throughput, collections support, and billing coordination
- Manage P&L performance for both the clinic and surgery center, supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial decision-making
- Partner with billing and revenue cycle teams to monitor collections, denials, aged receivables, and identify process gaps
- Lead, coach, and develop staff, setting clear KPIs, performance expectations, and accountability standards across teams
- Drive hiring, onboarding, and retention strategies, ensuring a strong, high-performing operational team structure
- Enhance patient experience by identifying service gaps, resolving complaints, and improving end-to-end patient journey
- Ensure regulatory compliance across CMS, state, accreditation, and healthcare standards, including audits and documentation
- Manage vendor relationships and external partners to ensure service quality and operational efficiency
- Identify operational risks and implement solutions, improving systems, processes, and long-term scalability
- Act as strategic partner to physician owners, translating business goals into actionable execution plans and reporting insights
Non-Negotiables
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare operations, practice management, or similar leadership role (must-have)
- Proven experience managing multi-department operations, P&L, and team performance (must-have)
- Strong understanding of medical practice workflows, revenue cycle management, and compliance standards (must-have)
- Demonstrated ability to build systems, improve processes, and scale operations effectively
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills in fast-paced environments
- Experience working with physicians, clinical teams, and external partners
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field preferred
- Experience in gastroenterology, ambulatory surgery centers, or specialty practices (preferred)
