Title: Electric Utility Project Manager

As the project manager, you will be responsible for the scoping, design, construction, and commissioning of large capital projects. Under general direction, you will exercise your judgment and be responsible for all aspects of assigned projects. Projects typically have a multi-year duration, and some may be high-profile. As an owner’s representative, you will protect the client’s interests, provide advice, and make decisions on their behalf. The position requires skills in managing cross-functional, multi-location project teams using cutting-edge project management methodologies.
 
Your Day-to-Day Activities:
· Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets aligned with governance standards.
· Prepare business cases, manage contingencies, and oversee project financials from inception to closeout.
· Track progress and report on key cost and schedule variances using tools such as Excel and Microsoft Project.
· Lead meetings for scoping, constructability review, design coordination, bid evaluation, construction oversight, and commissioning.
· Negotiate and execute contracts, process change orders, and maintain accurate cost tracking and documentation.
· Facilitate communication among project sponsors, stakeholders, and team members to ensure accountability and alignment.
· Prepare and present timely project updates, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
· Identify, track, and resolve project risks, issues, and opportunities to maintain performance objectives.
· Document lessons learned and incorporate them into continuous improvement efforts.

The Job Requirements:
·         Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related field
·         5+ years of work experience in project management or construction management
·         Experience with scheduling and Gantt charts
·         3+ years of experience communicating with and managing expectations with stakeholders
 
You’ll stand out if you have:
·         Professional Engineer (PE) license, Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification
·         Experience with electrical distribution, substation, or transmission projects
·         Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
·         A natural tendency for taking ownership and a willingness to lead
·         A strong commitment to quality and attention to detail
·         A passion for training and building a team

Compensation & Benefits
