We are seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to act as the key interface between electrical and electronic domains in the development of professional washing and drying machines. This role involves defining functional requirements and interface specifications, ensuring safe and compliant integration of sensors and other electronic components with electrical systems, while maintaining regulatory compliance (EMC, LVD, and other relevant standards).

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and specify electrical functions and interfaces between the electrical systems and electronic control units.

  • Design and document electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and connection plans, ensuring clear demarcation of boundaries between electrical hardware and electronics.

  • Develop circuit requirements for electronic boards to accommodate sensors (e.g., temperature, level sensors) and actuators connected to the electrical system.

  • Monitor and evaluate design changes to ensure compliance with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and low voltage directives (LVD).

  • Collaborate closely with electronics engineers, firmware developers, and testing/certification teams to ensure seamless system integration and validation.

  • Participate in design reviews and provide expert assessments related to electrical safety and electromagnetic interference risks.

  • Ensure all solutions adhere to applicable international standards (e.g., IEC 60335, IEC 61000 series, and other relevant industrial regulations).

  • Support prototype development and troubleshooting during validation phases.

Qualifications

Must Haves

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

  • Proven experience in electrical design and integration for professional machinery or industrial equipment.

  • Strong expertise in electrical schematics, wiring design, and interface definition between electrical and electronic systems.

  • Solid understanding of sensor integration and signal conditioning circuit requirements on electronic control boards.

  • In-depth knowledge of EMC, LVD, and relevant safety and performance standards, with hands-on experience ensuring product compliance.

  • Experience in change management and impact analysis related to electrical and electronic design modifications.

  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate clearly across disciplines.

  • Very good knowledge of English. (Swedish is not mandatory)

 

Preferred:

  • Experience in professional laundry equipment or similar heavy-duty machinery industries.

  • Familiarity with EMC testing processes and laboratories.

  • Basic understanding of low level embedded software.

  • Understanding of IoT and smart device integration in industrial machinery.

  • Knowledge of project management and agile product development methodologies.
