An established engineering and technical services organization is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design, operation, analysis, and maintenance of electrical systems supporting central plant and building infrastructure. This role focuses on power distribution, system optimization, energy efficiency, and resilience across complex facilities. The position requires a customer-facing professional capable of evaluating existing systems and identifying opportunities to improve performance, reliability, and sustainability.

Position Overview
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing building and utility electrical systems, supporting energy-efficient operations, and contributing to the development of projects that enhance system resilience and performance.

Key Responsibilities
• Serve as a subject matter expert in power distribution and electrical infrastructure, including medium- and low-voltage systems, load calculations, short-circuit analysis, arc flash studies, and coordination studies
• Provide technical expertise for electrical equipment, including generators, switchgear, transformers, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, panelboards, motors, pumps, compressors, and fans
• Support controls and automation efforts, including integration of electrical systems with building automation systems
• Perform field evaluations and technical reviews of electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, control schematics, and related documentation
• Develop and support projects aimed at improving electrical system resilience and energy efficiency, including preparation of project plans, scopes of work, budgets, and technical specifications
• Conduct root-cause analyses for electrical system failures
• Support acceptance testing and periodic maintenance testing, including infrared scans, insulation resistance testing, and circuit breaker timing tests
• Apply applicable codes and standards, including NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 70E, and relevant IEEE standards, to ensure compliance and support development of project requirements
• Identify areas of energy waste or inefficiency across electrical, lighting, HVAC, motor, and control systems
• Prepare detailed technical reports outlining findings, recommendations, and potential cost savings for presentation to clients and stakeholders

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong technical background in electrical engineering, energy systems, and building infrastructure
• Ability to analyze data and translate technical findings into actionable recommendations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for a customer-facing role
• Ability to remain current with evolving electrical, energy efficiency, and regulatory standards

Education and Experience Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience combinations:
• Four-year degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of seven years of experience supporting building and site electrical systems
• Two-year technical degree with a minimum of ten years of experience working with electrical systems

Preferred Qualifications
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Industry certifications such as InterNational Electrical Testing Association (NETA) Level 3 or Level 4, or National Institute for

Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET)
• Experience supporting Department of Defense facilities or programs
• Experience conducting energy audits
• Experience with microgrids and related subsystems, including solar generation and battery energy storage
• Experience performing life-cycle cost analyses
• Experience preparing and delivering formal multimedia presentations
• Experience training or mentoring technical staff
