Software engineers build the core of Amplemarket.

The three co-founders have an engineering background (João, Luís and Mica studied Physics & Computer Science at university) and deeply value the work that engineers are responsible for.

Our main goal is to build a sales platform that helps companies grow. Our product requires us to solve a myriad of difficult engineering problems very diverse in nature: from working on NLP models that can extract information from a thread of emails, to scaling an elasticsearch cluster holding terabytes of data.

We are deeply aware of the importance of our tool to our customers and look for people that share that vision.

We don't require you to have experience in our stack to apply.

However, while this role focuses on people and process management, we expect a strong technical foundation. You should be comfortable staying close to the codebase and stepping in hands-on when needed - providing technical guidance, debugging complex issues, and maintaining a high bar for quality and efficiency. You should expect ~50% of your time to be hands-on (e.g. coding, debugging, improving platform performance and stability).
You’ll also be expected to step into a technical leadership role when needed (for example, when a team Tech Lead is unavailable) and act as a key point of coordination between engineering and product, especially when multiple projects are running in parallel.
This role involves leading greenfield projects from the ground up, building new products that leverage Large Language Models and modern AI technologies, with meaningful ownership over both execution and technical direction.

Main Responsibilities:

• Work directly with the co-founders on priorities, execution, and technical direction
• Act as the glue between engineering and product, ensuring alignment across parallel efforts
• Provide leadership and mentorship to engineers on the team
• Plan and run engineering sprints to support predictable delivery
• Stay hands-on when needed, including coding, reviewing changes, and debugging issues
• Recruit and build a strong engineering team, owning the full hiring process
• Support engineers’ growth through regular feedback and stretch opportunities
• Enable high technical productivity and quality across the team
• Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as part of the engineering management team
