Work Hours:
- Monday – Thursday 7pm - 12am
- Saturday 7pm-11pm
Position Overview:
- Specimen Preparation and Packaging: Properly prepare and package specimens for pickup.
- Testing and Analysis
- Perform pregnancy testing: Perform urine testing.
- Provide timely analysis of specimens (bodily fluids, blood, urine, etc.).
- Quality Assurance: Keep the Laboratory Supervisor informed to ensure that appropriate remedial action is taken whenever a test system deviates from the laboratory’s performance specifications.
- Assure that patient test results are reported efficiently.
- Monitor test analyses and specimen examination to ensure that acceptable levels of analytic performance are maintained.
- Data Entry: Enter specimen analysis and results in a patient’s electronic health record.
- Specimen Collection: Collect specimens as outlined in the patient’s medical requisition after appointments.
- Know how to find out what send out labs are needed.
- Miscellaneous Tasks: Perform duties as assigned by the Laboratory Supervisor or Practice Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
- New York State Certified Clinical Laboratory Technician License required
- Must have a strong ability to work independently as well as an effective team member
- Must display strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to effectively relate to all medical staff
- Must have excellent ability to analyze test results, computer generated reports, etc., including superior follow up skills and attention to detail
- Must have the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and remain flexible in adjusting to changing conditions within the clinical/laboratory operations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Clinical Laboratory experience is a plus
- Knowledge of EHR or EMR strongly preferred

- $30 per hour, commensurate with experience.
