External Communications Coordinator
West Monroe is seeking an External Communications Coordinator to join our Marketing team. This entry-level role supports the U.S.-based external communications team, including Public Relations, Analyst Relations, Social Media, Website, and Awards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, quick-thinking, proactive, organized, and eager to contribute to enhancing West Monroe’s external visibility.
This role represents an exciting opportunity to join a driven marketing and communications team dedicated to elevating brand and driving business impact. Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related fields (desirable).
- Experience: 1-2 years in PR, social media, marketing, or communications (internships included).
- Technical Skills:
- Basic understanding of media operations and the news landscape.
- Familiarity with AI tools for summarization and analysis.
- Strong organizational, formatting, and communication skills.
- Personal Traits:
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and adaptable under tight deadlines.
- Eager to learn and explore innovative approaches.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Public Relations
- Prepare briefing materials for media interviews and opportunities.
- Track media coverage and co-maintain an organized media tracker alongside our agency partners.
- Coordinate internal calendars and scheduling for media interviews.
- Notify internal stakeholders of relevant media mentions.
- Pull relevant articles for internal leaders.
- Coordinate subscriptions for publications and resources.
- Compile proactive and reactive analysis of media coverage to inform strategy.
- Participate in weekly meetings with PR agency partners.
- Coordinate with PR agency as needed.
Analyst Relations
- Prepare briefing materials for analyst briefings and interviews.
- Pull analyst reports promptly from across the firm for market intelligence purposes.
- Attend analyst briefings and summarize key takeaways using AI tools.
- Maintain an analyst relations tracker in collaboration with our agency partners.
- Participate in bi-weekly meetings with the analyst relations agency.
- Compile proactive and reactive analysis of analyst relations mentions to inform strategy.
- Coordinate with the AR agency as needed.
Social Media
- Schedule and publish select content on social platforms, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and X.
- Monitor social media email inbox, triaging messages as needed, and coordinate with social media team.
- Assist with gathering assets, such as photos and commentary, to support social media content production.
- Develop and/or coordinate production of simple graphics and assets for social media posts.
- Compile proactive and reactive analysis of social media metrics for the Social Media Manager and Director of External Communications.
- Guide internal stakeholders on social media best practices.
- Compile bi-weekly firmwide social and content email newsletter.
- Help coordinate social media content calendar as needed.
- Coordinate with agency partners as needed.
Awards
- Maintain the awards tracker, working with the team to ensure deadlines and submissions are on schedule.
- Coordinate with external writers and agencies to ensure award applications are drafted and reviewed by the Awards Manager.
- Configure and set up award surveys.
- Collect and organize data and materials needed for submissions.
- Coordinate promoting awards on wthe ebsite and social media.
- Track, report, and communicate award wins, nominations, and metrics.
