Job Summary

Consistently demonstrates leadership qualities that enables teams to deliver via effective Lean-Agile practices. Coordinates with internal and external teams to resolve dependencies, identify and eliminate impediments, and facilitate flow. Places focus on continually improving team dynamics and performance while assisting the team in managing interpersonal conflicts, challenges, and exploit opportunities for team growth. Provides ongoing coaching and of Lean-Agile Principles and ensure teams maintain a Lean-Agile Mindset.

Key Activities

  1. Servant Leadership: The Scrum Master consistently demonstrates qualities of a servant leader, focusing on enabling teams to deliver via effective Lean-Agile practices. This includes coordinating with internal and external teams to resolve dependencies, eliminate impediments, and facilitate flow.
  2. Team Dynamics and Performance: The role places a strong emphasis on continually improving team dynamics and performance. This involves assisting the team in managing interpersonal conflicts, challenges, and exploiting opportunities for team growth.
  3. Coaching and Mentoring: The Scrum Master provides ongoing coaching on Lean-Agile principles and ensures that teams maintain a Lean-Agile mindset. They also mentor and guide junior-level scrum masters on SAFe principles and manifesto.
  4. Facilitation of Agile Ceremonies: This role independently participates in, facilitates, and manages the outputs of all agile ceremonies, including daily stand-up meetings, sprint reviews, sprint retrospectives, sprint planning, and backlog refinement sessions.
  5. Collaboration and Communication: The Scrum Master aids the team and Product Owner in managing and sequencing the backlog. They lead moderately complex teams with work involving routine external team impact or dependencies and may have multiple system integration points.
  6. Continuous Improvement: The role fosters a culture of continuous learning and improvement by creating an environment for continuous learning and pursuing everything Agile. This includes participating in user groups, attending conferences, reading books, and writing blogs.
  7. Problem Solving and Decision Making: With occasional support from the Release Train Engineer (RTE) and other resources, the Scrum Master II guides teams through the decision-making process and teaches techniques on how to problem-solve, improve communication, self-manage, and self-organize.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Scrum Master role
  • 1-3 years in an Agile environment experience or 4 years of experience in a project environment required.
  • English Proficiency required
  • Bachelor´s degree preferred,
  • SAFe Certified Scrum Master certification (within 180 days of hire) required.
  • SAFe Certified Practitioner or Agilist (within 180 days of hire) preferred.
