Requirements

We seek Data Engineer with a strong P&C insurance background to analyze business data stories and translate them into technical requirements. The ideal candidate can independently design, build, test, and implement data products of various complexity with minimal guidance.

Requirements:

4-6 years of experience as a Data Engineer with ETL using SQL

At least 2 years Insurance Background – Ideally P&C, flexible for insurance in other areas Health, Life if upskilling is possible

Responsibilities:

•Understands how to effectively use core tools for Data Analytics including Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Python and SQL Software, Canonical models

•Responsible for acquiring, curating, and publishing data both on prem and in the cloud for analytical or operational uses for moderate scenarios.

•Ensures the data is in a ready-to-use form that creates a single version of the truth across all data consumers, including business/technology users, reporting and visualization specialists and data scientists.

•Utilizes skills to translate business analytic requests/requirements into design, development, testing, deployment, and production maintenance tasks.

Works independently with various technologies from big data, relational and non-relational databases, cloud environments, different programming languages and various reporting tools. Is beginning to provide coaching to junior associates

Technical & Business Skills:

  • SQL – Advanced MUST
  • DBT/ Informatica – Advanced MUST
  • Snowflake - Intermediate (4-6 Years) MUST
  • Agile methodology, Software development, data development (Desirable)
  • Commercial / Business Insurance (Desirable)
  • Python/ PySpark – Intermediate (Desirable)
  • Shell Scripting – Intermediate (Desirable)
  • Power BI - Intermediate (4-6 Years) (Desirable)
  • Communication
  • Problem Solving – Intermediate
