About Us
Harmattan AI is a next-generation defense prime building autonomous and scalable defense systems. Following the close of a $200M Series B, valuing the company at $1.4 billion, we are expanding our teams and capabilities to deliver mission-critical systems to allied forces.
Our work is guided by clear values: building technologies with real-world impact, pursuing excellence in everything we do, setting ambitious goals, and taking on the hardest technical challenges. We operate in a demanding environment where rigor, ownership, and execution are expected.
About the Role
As a Finance Operations Associate, you will act as the right hand to the Head of Finance, with broad exposure across the full finance function. The role is hands-on and transversal, spanning accounting, reporting, cash & controls, taxes, financing (debt & equity), FP&A, financial tools, and strategic projects (including M&A).
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both operational execution and strategy, and who wants to play a central role in scaling finance processes in a high-growth, multi-entity industrial group.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will support the Head of Finance across a wide range of cross-functional and high-impact finance topics, acting as a force multiplier for the team.
Depending on priorities, you may contribute to fundraising efforts (debt and equity) through financial analyses, data room preparation, and investor meetings; support M&A and strategic transactions via financial modeling, due-diligence preparation, and coordination with advisors; and participate in the preparation and monitoring of the business plan, budgets, and rolling forecasts.
You will also be involved in the management of cash and liquidity, helping to monitor cash positions, working capital, and short-term funding needs and pricing modeling to support tender offers.
On the operational side, you will contribute to the setup, documentation, and continuous improvement of finance processes and tools, including ERP and reporting workflows. You may support the preparation and follow-up of public funding and tax incentive applications (e.g. CIR, CII, subsidies), ensuring operational execution, documentation quality, and coordination with external advisors.
More broadly, you will help structure reliable financial information and processes to support the company’s rapid growth, industrial scale-up, and increasing interactions with investors, partners, and public institutions.
Candidate Requirements
Educational Background & Work Experience: Degree in Finance, Engineering, or Business Administration (Master’s preferred), with 1 to 3 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, or similarly demanding analytical environments.
Finance & Analytical Skills: Strong command of financial fundamentals, excellent analytical capabilities, and a high level of attention to detail. Advanced proficiency in Excel and related tools is required, along with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, reliable analyses for management and external stakeholders.
Working Style & Autonomy: Hands-on, reliable, and well-organized, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines independently in a fast-paced and evolving environment. A strong sense of ownership and a “no task is too small” mindset are essential.
Communication & Commitment: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English. Full alignment with Harmattan AI’s mission, combined with the willingness to go the extra mile to support the company’s growth and ambitions.
We look forward to hearing how you can help shape the future of autonomous defense systems at Harmattan AI.
