As Finance & Operations Manager, you’ll be responsible for owning and scaling Swarmia’s core financial and operational processes. Reporting to the Head of Finance & Operations, you’ll collaborate across the company to support strategic planning, financial visibility, internal systems, and daily operations as we continue to grow globally.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll build as much as you operate. Many workflows are still manual, and you’ll have a major impact through automation, better tooling, and process improvements.

High-level breakdown of the role:

50% Financial planning & analysis

25% Accounting & reporting

25% Operations

About us

Swarmia is a fast-growing B2B SaaS company that helps some of the best software companies in the world, including Miro, Webflow, and Bolt, measure and systematically improve developer productivity and experience. We’ve built an international team of talented people who work from our HQ in Helsinki as well as remotely from the US.

What you will do:

  • Financial planning & analysis

    • Maintain and develop Swarmia’s financial model, budgets, forecasts, and planning processes

    • Partner with function leaders on scenario modeling, cashflow management, and commercial strategy

    • Build and maintain reporting for board, investors, and internal business reviews (weekly/monthly/quarterly)

    • Collaborate with RevOps and Business Intelligence teams to improve forecasting and financial visibility across teams

    • Support fundraising and strategic finance initiatives with relevant materials and analysis

  • Accounting & group reporting

    • Lead monthly closing, reporting, and audit processes across our entities in Finland and US

    • Manage external accounting partners in Finland and US

    • Drive improvements in group-level financial reporting and consolidation

    • Coordinate parent-subsidiary reporting and related compliance

    • Lead internal finance process improvements (e.g. integrations, automation, tooling upgrades)

  • Day-to-day finance operations

    • Oversee customer invoicing, billing workflows, and accounts receivable

    • Manage payments, reimbursements, cash tracking, and accounts payable

    • Maintain and develop key financial metrics and internal reporting dashboards

  • Systems & tooling

    • Evaluate, implement, and integrate financial and operational tools to improve visibility and scalability

    • Align business data and processes across Swarmia’s app, CRM, financial systems, and internal dashboards in partnership with RevOps and other teams

  • Vendor operations

    • Manage software licenses and vendor renewals

    • Track functional spend and headcount, supporting ROI analysis and cost control

  • Cross-functional initiatives & compliance

    • Support Business Finland applications, projects, and reporting

    • Support internal program administration such as the stock option plan, 409a valuations, and new entity setup

    • Partner with Legal & Compliance on risk management and finance-related regulatory topics

    • Contribute to broader internal operations initiatives as needed

You should apply if you have:

  • Proven experience as a Finance Manager, Finance Business Partner, Financial Analyst, or similar FP&A role in a fast-growing B2B SaaS business.

  • Solid understanding of cash flow statements, balance sheet mechanics, and financial drivers. Experience in business case preparation, forecasting, and scenario modeling.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into insights that drive business action.

  • High proficiency in Excel/Sheets and experience with FP&A tools and business intelligence platforms.

  • Strong business acumen and the ability to engage confidently with technical and product stakeholders. Experience with major deal evaluation or customer economics.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially when simplifying complex financial topics for non-financial audiences.

  • Proactiveness, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks.

  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

Experience in data analytics, proficiency in SQL and Looker Studio is considered a plus.

This role is not for you if you:

  • Require a fully mature finance stack where everything is already automated

  • Prefer working with just one finance platform where all the data is clean, consolidated, and provided by others

  • Want a narrow role focused on either accounting or FP&A

  • Expect established processes instead of building them

  • Are uncomfortable stitching together systems, working with multiple data sources, or rebuilding workflows from scratch

Interview process

  1. Intro call with the recruiter to learn more about you and share more about Swarmia

  2. Hiring manager call with Head of Finance & Operations

  3. Technical interview focusing on the competencies listed in the job description as well as solving real-life financial case

  4. Leadership interview with CEO & Founder

Benefits

  • 65-80k€ annual salary plus meaningful equity.

  • Paid annual vacation with 10 extra days for new employees.

  • Flexible remote/office balance — We value meeting teammates in person, but you don’t have to come to the Helsinki office every day.

  • Great work-life balance — We’re a startup, but we don’t work at an unsustainable pace (many of us have kids and other responsibilities beyond work).

We’re committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce and welcome people from all backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and abilities.
