Position Summary

UHN is going to implement a new project called Human Resource Information System (HRIS). The project implementation requires a dedicated team that brings together Clinical, People & Culture,  Digital, and other functional expertise.

As an integral member of the Finance team within the HRIS project and in close collaboration with the Project Management Office (PMO), the Financial Analyst II performs a wide range of professional accounting activities requiring experienced, professional knowledge and application of accounting theory and principles. The individual performs detailed accounting and advisory functions requiring sound professional judgment to ensure day-to-day operations are carried out in accordance with the established project management and internal control processes, accounting principles & Digital policies.

Duties

  • Ensure third-party vendor, contractor and consultant invoices are approved and submitting to Accounts Payable in a timely manner
  • Reconcile third-party vendor, contractor and consultant statements to Accounts Payable records and ensure that reconciled items are cleared in a timely manner
  • Liaise with internal teams and third-party vendors, contractors and consultants to support payment-related inquiries and follow-up with various UHN departments in addressing such inquiries
  • Notify management of unresolved discrepancies and providing recommendations for resolution
  • Ensuring all documents comply with UHN Cost Control policy and Signing Authorities and Delegation policy.
  • Develop, maintain and distribute ad-hoc reports and financial models as needed
  • Complete accrual worksheet on a monthly basis and provide supporting documents
  • Provide support and assistance to Manager in departmental administrative functions and other duties as assigned
  • Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the project workflow

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent program
  • Currently working towards a (CPA) Chartered Professional Accountant designation
  • Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in accounting or similar accounting position
  • Experience with SAP
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (macros and pivot tables)
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
