The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a Financial Reporting Analyst to join our Finance team.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting & Tax, the Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for assisting with the preparation of various monthly and quarterly financial reports, complex journal entries, and annual audited financial statements.
This position is also responsible for preparation of accounting position papers, journal entries, analyses of accounting & financial reporting issues and supporting corporate audit requests.

What your day looks like:
- Supporting the month-end and year-end close process including preparation of working papers, journal entries, and associated analyses for specific financial reporting items
- Preparing accounting position papers (mainly in relation to IAS 38, but other areas as well), researching and drafting memos to file
- Maintaining organized, audit ready files with appropriate documentation that are fully referenced and supported
- Preparing various financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Supporting the year-end audit process including compilation of financial statements and note disclosures, preparation of audit working papers and reconciliations, and responding to auditors’ queries as appropriate
- Assisting with annual SOC audit and liaising with appropriate departments in the organization and external auditors to facilitate the audit process
- Utilizing Sage Intacct report writer to develop new reports or modify existing reports
- Assisting the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting & Tax with ad-hoc projects
Requirements
Your experience and skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in finance or commerce, with a CPA designation
- 3+ years in an audit role and preferably working in a public accounting firm
- Prior financial reporting experience with IFRS
- Proficient in MS Excel (intermediate to advanced level) and MS office applications. Ability to build queries using SQL is an asset
- Prior experience creating reports with Power BI is an asset
- Prior audit experience, particularly with internal controls, is an asset
- Prior experience with Sage Intacct, and using Intacct Report Writer, is an asset
- Understanding of securities and capital markets as well as previous experience in the security brokerage industry would be an asset
- Able to learn quickly and synthesize knowledge from a variety of different sources
- Strong analytical skills for reviewing and interpreting quantitative and qualitative information
- Strong interpersonal skills to develop relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Capable of completing duties within set deadlines while still ensuring that the information produced is accurate
- Results oriented and take ownership of all assigned responsibilities
- Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset

Salary
This position is posted with an expected salary range of $83,000 - $100,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
