Currently seeking a Substitute Teaching Assistant for Francis of Paola ELC in Williamsburg.

Role Description:

  • Part Time/Per Diem | Monday-Friday (as needed)
  • Hours (range): 8:30AM-2:00PM
  • 10 month calendar with 30 day summer session
  • Under the direction of Teacher, follow daily activity schedule/lesson plans and implement students’ objectives as indicated in Individual Education Plans.
  • Provide direct care services to students individually and in groups as needed, including toileting, dressing and feeding in an instructional manner so as to provide basis of future independent student action.
  • Participate in arrival and dismissal of students as needed.
  • Participate in activities outside classroom when necessary (e.g. playground, field trips, gym etc.), supervising students by playing with them, being aware of their safety needs and teaching them skills under teacher’s direction.
  • Be familiar with students’ disabling conditions and their impact on performance. Be familiar with students’ IEP objectives, including educational purpose and methodology, and with NYS Prekindergarten Foundations for Common Core or NYS Common Core Learning Standards.
  • This is a non-benefit position.

Pay: $19.50-$20/hr

Qualifications

  • Candidates with experience working with students with disabilities are preferred.
  • HS Diploma required.
