Frontend Engineer (React)
Location: Barcelona, Spain — Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain high-quality features and components using React.

  • Write clean, scalable, maintainable, and well-tested code.

  • Collaborate closely with the Lead Frontend Engineer, backend engineers, designers, and product partners.

  • Participate in code reviews and help define frontend best practices.

  • Contribute to the full frontend development lifecycle, from technical design through deployment.

  • Ensure accessibility, performance, and reliability across the UI.

Must-have Skills

(Remember to include years of experience)

  • 5+ years of professional frontend development experience.

  • Expert knowledge of modern ReactJS, including React Hooks and React 18 features.

  • Strong command of HTML best practices, including semantic markup and accessibility.

  • Deep expertise in CSS, including vanilla CSS and scalable CSS methodologies.

  • Proficiency with modern tooling: Webpack, Babel, NPM/Yarn.

  • Strong experience using Git and GitHub-based workflows.

  • Experience with CSS-in-JS libraries (e.g., styled-components, Emotion).

  • Experience building and maintaining component libraries or design systems.

  • Familiarity with Storybook for component-driven documentation.

  • Knowledge of or experience with microfrontend architectures.

Nice-to-have

  • AI Tooling Proficiency: Use AI tools to optimize workflows (e.g., code generation, analysis, testing). Ability to propose effective AI use cases for improving development efficiency.

  • Experience optimizing frontend performance for large-scale applications.

  • Familiarity with accessibility automation tools or testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, RTL, Cypress).

  • Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

  • Contributions to open-source libraries or UI tooling.

Work Model

This role follows a hybrid model based in Barcelona, Spain, with 3 days per week onsite and 2 days remote.
