What You’ll Work On
As a Full Stack Engineer, you will be responsible for building scalable, high-quality software solutions that align with OVO’s architectural standards and product requirements. You will support a program focused on simplifying the Metering Booking process by developing a unified platform that replaces multiple existing booking systems. This new platform will consolidate data, streamline booking journeys, and include an orchestration layer for eligibility, prioritization, and routing, ultimately enabling the decommissioning of legacy systems.
Responsibilities include
- Developing software in the required languages (Typescript / NodeJS) to meet the business requirements.
- Implementing RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints for services.
- Working with an agile team to define technical implementation of business stories and estimating stories.
- Participating in code reviews.
- Helping define and driving the technical direction for the Booking team.
- Documenting the code solutions within the OVO architectural framework.
- Working within the technical standards, creating Proof of Concepts and implementing
- best practises.
- Implementing unit, integration and end to end tests and supported code.
- Working with the QA team implement and supporting automated testing.
- Implementing all non functional requirements (Coding standards, Cyber security, testing, scaling, CI/CD, Monitoring and Observability).
- Become an active member of the OVO development community and contributing to discussions, sharing resources and documentation.
- Communicate effectively across functions, partner with product, design and analytics to understand the requirements.
Requirements
- Experience working on enterprise software projects with multiple stakeholders and a love for building scalable, resilient solutions.
- Experience building back ends built in Typescript and full stack experience with React UIs would be a bonus.
- Development of software on enterprise cloud-based solutions such as GCP and AWS using infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform.
- Experience defining and documenting code requirements from business user stories.
- Have worked with realtime API layers in REST or GraphQL with knowledge of event managed architectures using technologies such as Kafka a bonus.
- Experience using CI/CD pipelines and defining monitoring configuration using tools such as Github Actions and Datadog.
- Experience working with PostgreSQL.
- Experience with container managed services, such as Kubernetes.
- You have worked in an agile software development environment and are experienced facilitating continuous improvement.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
