Schedule: Sunday to Saturday – Rotating Continental (12:00 – 24:00) — hours may vary based on operational needs
Pay Rate: $24.98/hour

Overview

Paladin Security is looking for a dedicated and experienced Associate Security Lead to join our team at the City of Brampton. Reporting directly to the Team Lead (Contract Manager), the Associate Security Lead will serve as the secondary authority for contract security personnel and act as the lead contact during non-business hours. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage a large, dynamic team while maintaining exceptional security standards.

Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Team Lead (Contract Manager) and act as secondary authority for the contract security team.
  • Serve as lead contact for the contracted security team during non-business hours.
  • Supervise and coordinate a team of 20+ security personnel per shift.
  • Ensure all guards meet mandatory skill and licensing requirements for assigned posts.
  • Arrange and conduct site-specific training for contract security guards.
  • Perform random checks to ensure performance and compliance with City expectations.
  • Coordinate and distribute uniforms and equipment.
  • Verify guards are licensed, properly trained, and in correct uniform.
  • Monitor Paladin Mobile Fleet maintenance schedules and ensure compliance.
  • Promote workplace safety and ensure proper PPE usage.
  • Conduct supervisory and compliance checks for field, mobile, and supervisory staff.
  • Perform notebook compliance checks and oversee reporting standards.
  • Conduct pre-screening interviews and assign new hires to posts.
  • Investigate and address security guard complaints.
  • Assist with event planning, staffing, and operational logistics.
  • Review and help develop SOPs, Post Orders, and Temporary Standing Orders.
  • Conduct disciplinary meetings for unionized and non-unionized staff.
  • Adjust schedules as needed based on operational demands.
  • Implement and oversee TrackTik software usage.
  • Represent the Team Lead during absences.
  • Ensure adequate training hours are allocated across all roles within the City of Brampton.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of Security Guard experience in a municipal government or corporate environment (asset).
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience (preferred).
  • Post-secondary education in a related field (asset).
  • Valid Ontario Security License.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Valid G Class driver’s license and clean abstract.
  • Comfortable with physical demands such as walking, standing, and working in various weather conditions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and two-way radio communication.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills (bilingual or multilingual applicants preferred).
  • Commitment to professional development of frontline and supervisory staff.
  • Flexible availability — security operations run 24/7.
  • Must complete required site training within 30 days of on-site hire.
  • Must successfully complete CPO certification within 6 months (training and costs covered by Paladin).
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
