Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

We want you as a talented and experienced Avionics Hardware Engineer to help us in our mission by developing avionics hardware for our Future Projects. You will be part of the Future Systems team, reporting to the Principal Engineer of the project and working closely with the other engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

In your capacity as Future Projects Avionics Hardware Engineer, your role will continuously evolve, but initially your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Work closely with the engineering to define the required functionalities, performances and interfaces of the hardware

  • Translate mission and system requirements into hardware requirements

  • Design the hardware equipment and create schematics

  • Select the required off-the-shelf equipment

  • Follow up with manufacturers on equipment production

  • Assemble the equipment

  • Support integration and testing of the equipment

  • Ensure the delivery on time, on quality and on cost of the hardware in your responsibility

What we would love to see from you

In the role as Future Projects Avionics Hardware Engineer ideally, you will have the following:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or another related field

  • 3+ years of experience in the design of hardware units for the aerospace sector

  • Experience in electronic design, embedded systems and aerospace communication interfaces

  • Experience with ECAD tools (e.g. Altium)

  • Experience with simulation tools (e.g. LTspice)

  • Experience with testing and debugging tools (e.g. oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.)

  • Experience with PCB manufacturing
