About This Role
As part of Intersect’s Corporate Finance organization, you’ll help ensure accurate, timely financial records that support confident decision-making across the business. This role delivers end-to-end general ledger support, from monthly close through balance sheet integrity, while partnering closely with teams across development, construction, asset management, and treasury. Your work will strengthen internal controls, support operational scale, and contribute to the financial foundation that enables Intersect’s continued growth.
Team Overview
This team plays a critical role in advancing Intersect’s mission to accelerate the clean energy transition by ensuring financial accuracy, transparency, and strong internal controls at scale. As part of the Corporate Finance organization, the Accounting team partners closely with teams across the company to support growth, operational excellence, and long-term value creation. What You’ll Do
Support Monthly Close and Core Accounting Operations
• Prepare monthly journal entries by collecting data, analyzing transactions, and building clear supporting documentation
• Perform account analyses to validate accuracy and completeness of balances and activity
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a timely basis, resolving variances as needed
Strengthen Financial Accuracy and Controls
• Prepare accurate, timely financial reports to support internal and external stakeholders
• Assist in maintaining strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and support compliance with accounting standards
• Contribute to continuous improvement of close processes and documentation
Partner Across Teams
• Collaborate with development, construction, asset management, treasury, and other departments to provide accounting guidance and support
• Support accounts payable through invoice coding assistance and responding to accounting-related questions
• Partner with the settlements team on recurring activities to ensure accurate financial tracking
Contribute to Team Projects
• Participate in ad hoc projects that support the accounting function and broader finance initiatives
• Adapt priorities as business needs evolve in a fast-paced, growing environment
What You’ll Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience, including exposure to operational assets and internal control environments
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and internal controls
• Experience with Sage Intacct or similar ERP systems (a plus)
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets
• Proficiency with accounting software and Google applications
• Clear verbal and written communication skills that support collaboration in a remote environment
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Problem-solving mindset with strong analytical capabilities
• Ability to work independently while contributing as a collaborative team member
• CPA, progress toward CPA completion, or a Master’s degree in Accounting (a bonus)
