The role

We’re seeking a Head of BD to build and lead Sky’s BD function from the ground up. This senior leader will architect a repeatable and scalable system that drives USDS demand and adoption across DeFi and TradFi institutions. The strategic objective and primary focus of this role is USDS demand growth.

This role requires a strategic builder who can bridge DeFi, fintech, and institutional networks, identify new growth channels, and transform the business development model into a proactive demand-growth organization.

The Head of BD will operate as one of the senior leaders of the Sky Frontier Foundation, working closely with the Marketing, Product, and Agent Framework teams.

What you’ll do

Strategic objective: USDS demand growth

Strategic leadership & growth

  • Design and execute Sky’s USDS demand-growth strategy, converting partners into active USDS flow channels.

  • Lead end-to-end partnership and integration efforts across:

    • DeFi/crypto institutions (leading DeFi protocols, CEXs, DEXs, wallets, bridges, etc.);

    • TradFi institutions (PSPs, neobanks, asset managers, stablecoin-enabled fintechs)

  • Establish KPIs that link BD activities directly to USDS growth, active flows, and adoption metrics.

Build the function

  • Create the BD operational structure, including processes, tracking systems, and resourcing plans.

  • Recruit, lead, and develop a high-performing BD team.

  • Implement data-driven reporting to measure impact and optimize pipeline performance.

Market intelligence & enablement

  • Market trends: Aggregate and synthesize institutional, regulatory, and DeFi market trends to inform Sky’s growth strategy.

  • Growth and adoption use cases: Analyze different industries and market segments (payments, asset management, trading, etc.) and identify the most promising use cases for USDS, sUSDS, and stUSDS growth and adoption.

Product ideation and Product-Market-Fit loops

  • Product ideation pipeline: Collaborate with Product to ensure partner needs and market signals are reflected in Sky’s roadmap and PMF loops.

  • PMF and closed feedback loop: Generate market hypotheses; run short, low‑risk pilots with partners; prove or kill hypotheses; feed data to Product; help sequence the roadmap for demand creation.

Ecosystem collaboration and orchestration

  • Sky Agent Framework and Star ideation: Proactively scan market gaps, participate in Star ideation, and formulate theses for new Star incubation, which, once approved, are handed over to Star Incubators.

  • Cross-Star orchestration & co-selling: Coordinate with the Stars on BD motions, define engagement rules, and ensure Sky is plugged into high-leverage partner deals.

What you’ll bring

  • 7+ years of experience in fintech with proven leadership and success in BD or growth.

  • 3+ years of direct DeFi experience, with a deep understanding of protocols, tokenomics, and integrations.

  • Strong network across crypto institutions, TradFi partners, and payment providers.

  • Deep understanding of DeFi and TradFi convergence, including payment rails, stablecoin regulations, and digital-asset adoption trends

  • Excellent strategic thinking, communication and negotiation skills.

  • Analytical and data-driven mindset, with comfort linking partnerships to product and financial impact.

  • Entrepreneurial energy: thrive in fast-moving, high-autonomy environments.
